I wouldn't say, that for the few days I had hosting with them it was a rollercoaster ride. It didn't start out that good and just got worse, more of a sinking in a fetid swamp kinda ride.

Let me explain I ordered their starter reseller package from their website h**p://w*w.1euro-hosting.eu/reseller-hosting.html

the one i ordered is shown here h**p://img189.yfrog.com/img189/7639/10gbq.jpg It says 10GB RAID, 10GB bandwith. So thats what I thought I would get, I didn't I got 5GB RAID.

I sent a support ticket asking if they could clear up the difference between what was advertised, therefor what I thought I had bought, and what I had actually got.

The reply was this
-------------------
We have sended you the details on your email already.

We are sorry, but it seems you have left out somehow 10GB, if you take a look on our offer there is no 10GB package.

---------------------------------------------
I replied to this email rather than the ticket system pointing out what they have advertised on their salsepage, but they declined to respond.

It seems that the actual package specs are on a different page, not accessable from the website.

In fact as far as I can tell you would have to sign up to see this page. Neat, advertise a cow, but send them a goat.

I thought dammit, but what the hell I've bought the hosting i may as well go ahead (thats why i'm writing this so you don't make the same mistake)
So i spent the next few hours uploading websites, configuring databases etc. Part way through this my sites went offline, 'What the hell' I refreshed, tried a different browser, internet was ok but the sites was deader than A-line flares with pockets in the knees.
Half an hour later it was back, 'Wayhey!' but before you can say 'configure with phpMyadmin' it was gone again.

It continued like this for the next couple of hours, online then off.
I will mention at this point, that they have claimed that a motherboard died causing the server to go down, maybe so. I have have many many motherboards over the past 15yrs not many have gone down but it does happen, for me the ones that have gone, have just switched off. There no struggling on valiently for several hours or anything nobel they just shutdown; dead, end of story.

Have you had a nobel soldier of a motherboard? Fighting the good fight, fataly wounded but determined to finish the mission. 'I..I'm gonna make it Tommy, I will...but just in case tell Mary I love her....urrgg' 'NOOOOOOO! he was so young!'
Well maybe it does go that way sometimes, share with us if you have personal expierience of this.

Anyway to the story in hand.

By 9pm GMT it was totally off line, I checked again at half-past midnight, still no site.
The following morning I checked again, still no site, so I went to send in a support ticket, HOLY VAPOUR HOSTS batman, they've gone! No hosting company site now.

I use a gmail account and take advantage of their very handy exchange server to push my emails directly to my phone, there was nothing from them all night. I logged in to my account anyway just to make sure, nope nothing, nada, not a sausage.

I came here to WHT to see if they had left any word, I had discovered them in the first place through looking at the VPS section here on WHT.

But no there was no word here either, I waited till 10:30 ish checking the site every 10mins or so, before posting here myself.

the thread is here h**p://w*w.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=917209 that as you can see was the 7th

On the 8th another user said that there was a motherboard problem, but there was no way of checking this and there was no confirmation from the company. They did not even join in the thread to give some word.

I did not personaly hear from them untill the 11th, when out of the blue I received an email stating they had resolved the issue. How come they could get an email to me on the 11th but not before?

On the 12th I sent in a ticket cancelling my account and asking for a refund
the details are below
---------------------------------
I will not be continuing with this product. The recent server downtime left me with no information as to the reason or duration of said downtime. During this downtime I moved my sites to another host, therefor I have no further need for this account.

I therefore claim a refund under your TOS

'to receive a refund of any sort you must be cancelling due to a flaw in 1€ Hosting's services'

and their reply

========================================

We have sended out emails, like 5 to each customer... CHECK YOUR EMAIL BOX from time to time!

You have been refunded.

Wow, no apology or even a sorry dude. No its all the fault of the customer, I'm sure they would have a great business model if it wasn't for all the damn customers taking up so much time. I suppose actually there is some truth in that quip, because if you are a customer with 1euro-hosing.eu and you have a problem it is your fault, you should have found a better host. As someone said in the other thread (above) you get what you pay for.

The silver lining is I now have a much better host, who are both courteous and communicative as well as fast and resonably priced.

I shall post a review of them soon.

A lesson to be learned here perhaps....

For what they are charging, their packages appear to be incredible value for money... and you know what they say....

if it appears too good to be true, etc, etc....

That's quite an experience. And I do confirm that their website shows 10GB space and 10GB bandwidth, while the shopping cart lists it as 5GB.

All other plans show up properly. Furthermore, entering their Support area, they misspell Through, as trough.

Hopefully your new host will do as you want it to.

PS: For verification purposes, what domain did you host with them recently? This can be accomplished privately by clicking REPORT on your post and entering the details there if you wish.

Hi

Sorry to hear about your experience. 10GB bandwidth isn't much really is it for a 10GB diskspace plan!

One thing to remember you get what you pay for.

Cheers guys for your support, well I guess we live and learn eh!
I know they were cheap but I thought they had made the savings with support, y'know there wouldn't be much. Thats ok i don't need much, so I figured whats the point in paying for top flight support if I hardly ever use it.

I did i also admit have some reservation which is why for the first itme ever I ordered on a monthly basis rather than anual.

I wouldn't mind having a host that in order to keep costs down, had an 'advanced users' package. It could give more disc space and bandwith by providing say only 1 free support ticket per month, and the rest you pay $10 for. After all 24/7 support is not only expensive its gotta be a pain in the ass to deliver.

I know my way reaonably well around and dont need much support obviously if its there and I'm paying for it then I'll use it. At the moment though I don't want the grief or expense of a VPS, hence the reseller.

The site I registerd was a personal one, I have the dns through namecheap which I manage myself. I am already in the process of setting it up again on the new host ezpzhosting.co.uk the site was previously built using concrete5, which I like very much but this time I have decided to use wordpress. so i don't want it getting spammed.

but you can see a copy of the invoice here h**p://yfrog.com/j61euroaccj

I've been with them while and had ENDLESS problems.

Server dropping, not being able to access FTP. Support rude and unhelpful, now trying to transfer my domains out is a endless struggle....

DON'T SIGN UP WITH THEM, it's cheap but terrible!

On the bright side, at least they honored their refund policy.

Refund or not that was still a very rude response on their end.

Do you mind sharing your domain hosted with them. If you don't want to make it publicly, you can report it to the mods so that it's verified.

Sorry to hear about your poor experience with 1euro-hosting - just another example on how you cannot afford to use budget hosts ;)
