Hey guys my clients are steadily growing and ive got emails saved with users info. Now im not using WHMCS etc.. im manually setting up accounts. So i would need to manually input data about my clients such as email address, domain info etc..

What would be the best program to use to keep such info on my computer? Microsoft word, office etc?

Thanks

I would honestly recommend that you install WHMCS and use it but if you like doing it manually I would recommend to use Microsoft Access 2003 or 2007. I use Microsoft Access 2007 for a sales pipeline, kind of keep information of individuals, businesses who are interested in our services.

you can get clientexec or even phpcoin which is free. I wouldn't recommend you do everything manually - I mean, You can do what you want but these softwares make it so easy to manage everything and keep records.

Otherwise I'd also recommend MS Access for record keeping like this - it's basically a database. You can even use MS Excel for this.

But if your client base is growing, invest a bit more money and get a billing software, it'll be worth it and it's not that hard to get used to, just needs some time, just like everything else.

You could get OpenOffice. IIRC they have an Access-type program bundled.

For the $13 or $15 bucks a month for a lease if you can't afford to buy it outright WHMCS is well worth it. It will handle pretty much everything for you. You can export your reports, comes with a support desk that is actually feature rich and improving all the time. It will even automate your setup for your DirectAdmin clients. After using PHP Coin then ModerBill for a few years WHMCS is the way to go.

I will mention we do still have a manual billing system (Invoice2go) for those clients that require a bit more flexibility then any automated system can give us. This system has Paypal and 2CO API's integrated.

If your looking for an automated or manual billing system the two mentioned above work well for us.

I would imagine billing your clients are a pain, unless they are automatic on 2checkout or paypal.

In any case, if you don't want to use software, I'm sure Excel can keep track of things just fine.

Open office is quite low. I recommend you have exel sheet. From my past experience that is really comfortable to manage.

Indeed. However I know some good exel forums and there you will be able to learn more about such possibilities
