View Full Version : Looking for new Registrar...
v-rod 11-25-2002, 04:28 PM Hello all...
We are currently with Bulkregister and are looking to get away from them. We don't want to fork out over $7,000 for enom. I am thinking that we could maybe find a reseller of theirs to go with. We would like to move all domains that become due for renewal each month to the new account. We are also using ModernBill and would like to be able to intergrate with that as well.
Maybe someone who has been in our shoes could help...
Thanks for your time!

I can no longer make $6.95 enom accounts, but I recomed that you pick one up for yourself. I've never used Modernbill - but if you might like to look if DRAM is integrating it:

I guess they ARE talking about a reseller account.
By the way v-rod, you may want to take a look at Tucows/OpenSRS as well.
v-rod 11-27-2002, 01:34 AM Who has a reseller plan that will allow my clients to have access to their own account manager?
greggish 11-27-2002, 01:55 AM If you will be registering alot of domains for many clients each needing their own domain manager then you should pick up a $6.95 enom reseller account for around $100... you can find people selling them on this forum all the time.
v-rod 11-27-2002, 09:33 AM Datsa whati wasa lookin fur...
nameslave 11-27-2002, 09:43 AM With OpenSRS, your clients are able to login and manage their own domain names, either via https://manage.opensrs.net or a customized version of your own.
manderso 11-28-2002, 01:26 AM Clients can also login and mange there own domain names with enom too.

I was, and I went to Dotster. :) www.dotster.com
greggish 11-29-2002, 06:03 PM NxTek, are you really happy with dotser? I had to use them recently because I bought a domain from someone who had it with dotster. Their management interface is by far the worst I've seen so far.
NxTek 11-29-2002, 09:54 PM Yep, totally happy. We're been a reseller for about a year. The domains are $10 which is a tad bit high. They could do a few things better in the management area but it's certianly not the worst I've seen. eNom's is in my opinion.
greggish 11-29-2002, 10:50 PM You have to be kidding about enom's being the worst... It took me about 40 clicks and 20 minutes to change all the contact info for 1 domain on Dotster... a totally insane and slow interface.
Incognito 11-29-2002, 11:34 PM I have been with Dotster for about two years with no problems at all. And although $10 or $12 sounds high, they take care of all the credit card fees and risk. For instance, with Enom's comparable Registry Rocket Service, if you sold a domain for $15, it would cost you $1.40 or $20, it would cost you $1.55. So, assuming you sell for $15, a $10 dotster is the equivalent of a $8.60 Enom.
For the record, I never said you could get dotster for $10-that was NxTek.

I just had the exact same complaint about eNom. :)
The domains are $10 a pop which is about a buck more than most but their reseller program and completely-branded Instant Reseller programs are all free. I'm not sure how spending $6000 to get domains for $7.99 works out but I guess it does for eNom. To each his own.
