i decided to use authorize.net for my transactions. I was wondering if there was a way to sign up at the company but so far all i've seen is signing up at resellers. Is there a way to directly sign up at authorize.net?
Also i need a merchant account right? not a reseller?
ANd if anyone knows of a better paying system then authorize.net if you could share it with me it would be helpful

Hey,
Contact me by PM and I'll send you the contact info for the company I used for this. They will set you up with a merchant account and Authorize.net too. And there is no long term contract or lease.

DaveNET, could you post your info here so anyone else interested can check it out?
It should be considered spamming since I am asking for it :-)

Hi,
I don't want to break the rules. Its not my company, so I'm not promoting myself, so maybe they'll let me post the info...
The company is Electronic Transfer. You can find them online at www.electronictransfer.com. I personally know the owner since he's located in the same city where I live. I've sat in his office and he's only about 2 miles from my house.
You can call Mike at 800-757-5453 x201.

Electronic Transfer charges a $295 setup fee (disguised as an "equipment fee", and pricing no where on there website). I would NOT recommend them.

Yes, they do charge the $295 fee, I paid it. However there is no lease you have to sign. Also, they have a new program where there is no setup fee. However there are some downsides to it, but I don't recall what they are. I've gotten excellent service from them.

If you are looking for a good alternative to Authnet take a look at echo-inc http://www.echo-inc.com. They have really decent rates with a low $99 setup fee and monthly's as low as $10 a month. Plus a nice feature is that if you don't process in a month they don't charge you the monthly fee. Also they give you a Merchant account along with the Gateway so their is no additional fee for a merchant account as with other Processors.
