A few problems. I know this is something real simple in the configuration I am overlooking. This is my first time using cpanel/whm.
When I create a new user account in whm, and I use ftp for that user, they go to this directory by default, and it looks like they have snooping capabilities by being able to browse back levels.
/usr/local/apache/htdocs
I believe the directory they go to should be here:
/home/newusername
I don't want them to be able to go back any levels. They should stay in their folder only. I did just notice that when I go to "change ownership of an account" it lists it as root (mars.mydomain.com). Why did it place it here by default? The new accounts should not be like that and I never selected it that way.
Lastly, when I got my server, these were the ip's I was given. So the main Shared Virtual Host IP setting in whm setup, should be any number within the usable block, correct, 227-230? I am not sure the meaning of the network, gateway, or broadcast ip numbers.
224 network
225 gateway
226 server
227-.230 usable
231 broadcast
Thanks in advance.
