I surf with Java and JavaScript off, and I'm ..uh... protesting that crap.. or something..., so I can't tell you, but I can tell you that it's not the most accurate thing, that's for sure. I think I checked that before and my 56K modem was moving like 267... I was really impressed... :-)

well I think it is crap, and everyone should know that, now it says I am at 18.5 when I am connected at 48.8
I think it is a gimmic to try to get you to buy DSL or cable, or something.

Wouldn't do any good to try and market dsl or cable to me, as neither are available in my area.

1088.2 kbps. Pretty good for $39/month CDN.

It is way off and seems to report speeds severely slower than they really are in more cases than reporting them faster.

On my dial up connection, it reported 36.5 when I was connected at 49, 666. On my ADSL connection, it reported 405 kbps though I connect at 1.472 mbps.

It is obvioulsy too faulty to be trusted.

I get 373.8 kbps from Sweden (I usually get 230kb/sec when I download from within Sweden, 20-50kb/sec from USA).

Mt. Dew, $39.99/mo

I've tried some of these online tests and they all come up differently:

I think I beat everyone. I got 81600 kbps. I once got unmeasurable or too fast. I don't believe those tests thought.

I tried it three times, one right after the other. The first time it gave me around 600 kbps, the second time around 300, and the third around 800 (off a cable modem).

I think it's more a test of *their* connection than yours. :)

Tomorrow I'll go and test it at school.... should be fast....

And you are happy about that? :D

I got >400000 kbps (yes, four hundred thousands kbps)! How about that? :D

PS: just try to push your back button several times and you will see some strange numbers :D :D

cheers,

I think the most accurate one is dslreports.com's test. It actually uploads and downloads files of different sizes and bases its results on how long it takes.
