Hello All,
I am comparing reseller plans from Godaddy and Hostgator. Both plans are very different. GoDaddy plan come ready to use, you practically don't need to do anything expect for your price setup. And everything is up and running in minutes.
Host gator plans are little expensive and provide little less features but provide more control and you can have your own dns names. It also provides lot more control.
What are your experience with GoDaddy or Host Gator? Which one is best?

Thanks
Champ

GoDaddy isn't that great with support and I've heard they don't improve too much with their hosting. I love them for domains but I'd never use them for hosting. HG on the other hand seems good. No exp with them though.

Go with HostGator, they provide better uptime.

Depends on what the purpose of the reseller plan is. Is it to start a web hosting company or to host a few personal sites?

If it's the former, you'd want to be as hands on as you can..:agree:

In that case, my advice is to take a hands on approach and go with a company that offers a little bit more flexibility and has more of your involvement. That would be HostGator out of the two you have mentioned.

Yeah, if you do a search for godaddy + problems, you'll fine a lot. Out of the two that you mention, HostGator is the best.

But you also may find other options if you search around.

In the past, I have used Innohosting and they are quite good.

So try not to limit your choices and see what you can come up with.

Also, medium to smaller hosts can give you more support than larger hosts. That's another reason to go with Inno or a similarly-sized host.

I heart what some popular scripts does not work on Godaddy servers. Also godaddy solution looks like an affiliate program. So you cannot create your plans and prices as you wish. I am thinking what you make more money with reseller hosting solutions that similar Hostgator's.
