I am seeking other opinions on what type of business to start up. I use to own a small web hosting company but then I closed it down. I am open to any suggestions, of course. However, suggestions relating to computers and/or the Internet would be best. I appreciate any help. Thank you.

Sorry not trying to be rude, but if you need suggestions on what type of a business you should have maybe you shouldn've go into business.

IMHO you can't just open a business because a bunch of people tell you too. You need to have a desire and knowledge of (Whichever it is) an industry to be successful, even then there's no guarantee.

People open a business for a reason
- They see a gap in the market
- They have experience in a market
- They have a particular skill

You can t just decide "right im going to start a business and let random people in a forum choose which path i take" lol.

Yes, I know. I was just looking for ideas I haven't thought of. Since there's so many things that you can do with computers or the Internet.

start reading entrepreneurial magazines and websites and see what other businesses people are starting up and how they got successful. then match that with SWOT analyses.

unfortunately, we don't have any idea of your SWOT.

generic hosting? yes. anytime someone can go on the net and take 30 seconds and find several thousand people doing the same thing, its flooded.
