View Full Version : Google Checkout
HOD-Jardin 01-01-2010, 10:38 AM Hi,
I've recently started using Google Checkout.
Has anyone else experienced problems with Google Checkout similar to PayPal?
Note: I've not had any problems with Google Checkout, seems pretty good so far :)
teachforjune-Scott 01-01-2010, 01:28 PM I haven't had any issues with google checkout, though most of our clients choose paypal.
My only criticism of google checkout is that I wish they had a debit card for easier access to the money similar to paypal.
HOD-Jardin 01-01-2010, 02:38 PM I didn't find there FAQ's good (the cards they accepted article)... what is the seller protection like?
njoker555 01-01-2010, 06:15 PM Google checkout is pretty good, we use it, and we like it. Never had any issues, they even blocked a few fraud orders.

They should deposit the money straight to your bank and then you can use the debit card that comes with your account.
shotthebreeze 01-01-2010, 07:13 PM Never had any issues with Google checkout. Paypal is a different story, but I don't think you're going to run into any problems with either.

thanks mate :)
[JSH]John 01-01-2010, 08:12 PM I haven't experienced any problems with Google Checkout. There's been the few times Google have reviewed clients, which delays the ordering process but that's all to protect the seller from fraud.

I had few chargebacks via GC, even I proved that the service (domain name registration and web hosting is delivered). The GC is best for selling physical goods instead of service.
HostOrca 01-03-2010, 06:41 PM I hardly use Google Checkout but, when I do it's usually good.
michaelnovikov 01-04-2010, 04:12 AM It depends on what exactly youre selling. Most people prefer PayPal however Google Checkout has been gaining some hype lately so it might be the next best thing. One thing i definitely do not like is the lack of debit cards. I know that you can have it setup so it has direct deposit however it still not the same.
teachforjune-Scott 01-04-2010, 08:20 AM Yes, direct deposit takes a minimum of 2 business days after they process and they don't necessarily process on the same day as the order. That's the biggest downfall for us. We have to wait at least 2 days but sometimes up to 5 before the cash is in our accounts. I guess this is standard practice for most merchants, but we're spoiled with paypal. ;)
Avalon Systems 01-04-2010, 08:23 AM Google Checkout is our preferred method of payment, we have yet to have a single fraudulent payment processed through it. :)
marcbarak 01-04-2010, 08:57 AM We have set this up for clients but very few choose Google Checkout as they prefer PayPal

@Thread OP = Google Checkout is great. Not only does it filter fraud orders for us but it also gives us access to the funds quicker than what paypal does. The fee's i feel are a little exasperate however its a service that is worth every penny :)
HOD-Jardin 01-04-2010, 09:12 PM Ok thanks for all your views :)
MichelleH 01-12-2010, 12:29 PM I use Google Checkout on my personal site and have never had an issue with it, like the many I have had with Paypal
