I'm considering making designs and selling them on here...i've been designing sites for quite a few years....but I am hesitant as I don't want to make templates only to have them not be sold. I know my designs will be great designs....

My questions are :

-Are people actually buying templates or is it just 1 or 2 that get sold every so often?

-Average $$ paid for template? A rough estimate would be fine.

-What is the preferred method of payment?

Thank you so much!

1. Depends on the design. Right now the site is over burdened with "templates". So, "IF" your designs are different and "HIGH QUALITY" then you may do some business here.

2. Again, depends, anywhere from $40 - $150. Do a search for "templates" and see what you come up with.

3. CC or PAYPAL

Good Luck!

well...you can say that ppl are buying, but not so often
may be 2-3 templates/week
and the most importent thing is the price
here on wht templates are sold for 1/4 of thier normal price
i dont know why ,may be cause lots of designs are for sale and just few ppl want to buy,any way thats just the way it is
and about the payment...i think paypal would be the best here

Well, I just paid for my first template for an update of my site. Hopefully the design guy comes through (hint hint!), as I have a new project that may mean a steady flow of designs. So, just based on my needs, I see a market for templates designs etc...

My preference is to work with the same team... or designer as my projects grow. Unfortunately, I have run in to a few *bumps* just on my design, so I am not convinced I have found the right designers. Right now, I am not too happy.... not really with the basic design, just the lack of communication from the person I have sent money to.

Oh well, will see what happens... before I get too pissed. Communication is key though.. a designer that can put out a quality product and a price that is fair, and can communicate with the client should do well, IMHO.

I just bought one here a few days ago .. . remember though not ALL people here are hosts . .so f.e. for me the hosting related templates are not that interesting .. and don't forget not everybody changes designs weekly or monthly ...

I agree... we're not doing hosting/reselling in the traditional sense, but are definitely on the lookout for nice, "standard business" templates. There's some real talent floating around here...

You certainly have a chance when your design is qualitative and unique. And giving your customer a good support is also a good thing when you're looking to the future.
