lookingahost 11-24-2002, 10:27 PM Hello , folks
I am looking for a host of course and I am liking http://www.phantasyworkshosting.com , I did a search and found some feedback and was wondering if anyone had some recent feedback on them on how the service and tech support is ?
I am not looking for a cheap host , but they seem to have wide variety of hosting plans for affordable pricing. I noticed they give you alot of features for the money , well I think so anyways.
Appreciate any feedback on this hosting company:)
dandanfirema 11-24-2002, 11:47 PM While I can't say that I have used them. They have a very good reputation around here and I can't recall ever hearing anything bad about them.

hpeters998 11-26-2002, 02:39 PM Hi,
I used them for 2 days, I decided to cancel my account for the fact they use zend optimzer instead of php-accelerator. Zend optimizer seems to be a bad choice for use with Vbulletin boards.
But I had the chance to check out their service, and I think it is a quality host as far as I can say. Fast service, fast servers and connection (located at NAC).
Canceling my account was no problem @ all, 30 mins after sending an email my account got canceld and a refund was done.
So if u don't run vbulletin I think this host is really good.

We have had very good luck with Vbulletin and zend , and will further investigate the use of php-accelerator in the coming days and may install it if we could get user feedback that it defintely is better choice over zend. I tend to believe user feddback over what a developer says , it like buying anthing you want user feedback. Thanks for giving us a try though :)
dandanfirema 11-26-2002, 04:52 PM I have to say that PHP accelerator has been amazing. I had a customer launch a site today completely over whelming their dedicated server. I saw loads over 150. Here is a graph of system load. Notice the sharp drop in load at 11:00. That is about the time we installed PHPA.

phantasywork 11-26-2002, 04:55 PM thanks for the feddback there dandanfirema , any idea where I can find this , I would love to install it and try , just curious if it would cause confilct sense we have zend installed already.
Thank Doulgas
dandanfirema 11-26-2002, 04:57 PM It will NOT work with Zend.

The developer is a great guy and is very accessible for support if there is a problem. Let me know if you need some help with it, as I have had him assist me with a detailed configuration and will be happy to share with you what I have.
phantasywork 11-26-2002, 05:14 PM Alright thanks , Douglas
hpeters998 11-26-2002, 05:16 PM Hi,
PHP Accelerator basicly does what Zend Accelerator does, only its free. Zend Optimizer only works with optimized scripts, normal scripts sometimes take even longer to load.
As far as I know there isn't any connection between the makers of PHP Accelerator and Vbulletin... :)
U can do a search @ the vbulletin supportforums if u want more usertests.
Ciao,
H. Peters
