Is there any way to enable ClearType or a similar method of heavy antialiasing in Windows 2000?

However, that is for WindowsXP. For Windows 2000 the only option we have is the following:

Right click on desktop >> Properties >> Effects >> Smooth Edges of Screen Fonts.

I don't have XP so I dont know if that carries the same effect.

I like to refer to "ClearType" as "Blurry Type", I rather my text nice and crisp.

Before ClearType: http://www.shaunewing.com/miscimages/cleartype-off.png

After ClearType: http://www.shaunewing.com/miscimages/cleartype-on.png

It hurts my eyes just looking at it.

Anyway, I'm not sure about Win2k, I know one can smooth the edges of the screen fonts as flitcher says but I always thought ClearType was introduced in WinXP?

I agree, I have XP and ClearType makes me a little dizzy.

Yes it looks blurry but in the end I like it better.

So there's no way? :(
