Hi.Hello!

I want to get an alpha master reseller planBad idea IMHO.

I want to order from valid reliable hosting company , i dont want to risk .Then I would avoid alpha master resellers and go with a standard reseller plan.

Whats your suggestions?
Avoid alpha master and master reseller plans and go with a regular reseller plan or if you really wanted to offer your own reseller plans to your clients get a VPS or a Dedicated server.

Well, I don't think you will get offers for alpha master hosting that will allow you to run download sites. You must get your own dedicated server or at least a VPS for these kind of works.

I also want to tell you that no <registered> company sells alpha master reseller hosting as far as I know. Those who offer alpha master are kids run the business from their home. Check their office address/contact information and confirm it before you buy.

Good luck for your search.

Hello,

Try taking a look in the "Advertising Forums" under "Reseller Hosting Offers".
I think I seen a few people advertising what you are looking for.

I don't really think they have registered their company officially. You may not even find contact details on their website :) Is it right ?

^^.

Actually ... I don't care about is it a registered company.

I tried many providers and some of them are really registered companies but still have poor service. Some of them are not registered companies but the quality are very good.

Hello,
There are a few registared companies, some of which even pay taxes :). I actually find it strange you mention it, dosnt WHMPHP have a way to do Alpha?

I would highly recommend that you avoid alpha master reseller packages as they are incredibly hard for a provider to maintain. At most, get a master reseller package from a reputable provider that knows what they are doing and can support them.

WHMPHP doesn't support alpha.

Most companies do not show contact details on there website and I do not think I would want an idiot going to my company's address and beating the crap out of me because I said something wrong by mistake.

Hi oliviakitty,

Could you explain the risk involved in it?

Thank you,

It is really hard to survive for a host with the extra growing pressure from Master reseller/alpha master reseller users at the price you have to offer to sell them. A server lasting for 2+ years with master/alpha resellers will overload for sure. Moreover, the motherboard you would be using for a server with 2+ years age, wouldn't support upgrade to the latest CPU. Some Operating system level tweaking does provide extra benefits with current CPU cores, but they are insufficient from my own experience.

Guys,
I really don't think you should be so quick to shoot down Alpha Reseller Hosting in place of a VPS. There are markets for BOTH. I do understand that there are several "Kids" who are providing Alpha Reseller Hosting, but keep in mind that this is not the case with ALL hosts. There are still a few honest companies who sell Alpha Reseller Hosting (I will not mention myself due to "Self Promotion", but there are a few)

Now, there are a few secrets to selecting ANY reseller Host, this also applies to Alpha Reseller Hosting;

If you see "Unlimited" or "Unmetered" Space or Bandwidth - RUN and RUN FAST
Check how long the host has been in business
Read Reviews
Google Searches can help, but be careful
eBay is NOT the place to buy Hosting:D
May I ask the OP what the Space and Bandwidth Requirements are? I also know that using a shared hosting account for a "Download Site" may not be a good idea, but it is always smart to check with the host to ensure this wont violate the TOS.

@SunShell - Last time I went through my books, I do see that I paid taxes on my registered business. I also know that Hosty.net which also does Alpha is an LLC. As true with MOST reseller accounts, there are more that are not registared businesses then that are. I am sure that it is not feasable to screen your customers.

I don't think I would be very happy to share my CC info, personal address with a virtually anonymous organization. The online world is impersonal, unidentifiable enough (who can say if you're really at the address on your site), but at least you can see a company's willingness to identify itself. In some countries it is actually required by law to do that if you're doing distance selling.

Good Point. Contact details make you look much better and a registered business does too. If somebody did come over my business and did try that I could always call the police. :stickout:

Well said. I'd recommend that you always do a quick background check on any company before doing business with them (just to make sure that they are legitimate)

I'm a bit confused but what exactly you meant by that comment. Did you mean that you do not suggest the op to look for a "Master Alpha Reseller" or were you replying to a specific post?

I'm just curious as to what your suggesting someone doesn't do.

I dont like the master reseller hosting, it allows people to reseller reseller accounts if I am correct.

You should really have a dedicated server for that so you know:

1) exactly how much resources you have
2) it isn't currently oversold
