Yes, I used it here on several personal servers. It's good if you're the only user of the server, but if the server is for web hosting clients then a different control panel is definitely needed such as CPanel. For changing settings etc on a server used for your own sites Webmin is great. The URL is http://www.webmin.com/ for people who don't know about it.

What did you dislike or do you just prefer the command line?

To be honest, I dont think i gave it a fair chance :)

It was installed as default on a server we got and I used it for about 10 minutes before setting to work deleting it.

I like using the command line and saw an unnecessary install of webmin as just another security issue - hence the removal.

Yep, it's not for everyone. For me, it's a lot faster than most command-line stuff, but there are some things that are best served by the command-line.

Webmin is as secure as anything else, and it also has built-in SSL.

I also agree that Webmin is the best CP for beginner to work with his own personal server, no command line has to be learnt.. Can be setup within mins, and powerful functions included! For daily operations, you can simply login via Webmin and no need to type any command thru SSH!

agreed for noobs.. its a cool tool, BUT

In the long run its best to learn the right way (command line) and dont RELY on webmin - what happens when you open your browser and BAM webmin doesnt work - you head for the command line :)

I don't like it very much. It does not do everything correctly.

I prefer to do things manually rather than mess up my httpd.conf for example.

It has many bugs yet otherwise it could be a very useful thing.

I use it on all my local servers as I am sure that it will be easy to fix it's wrong updates but I don't accept the risk to use it on a remote server specially when customers are on it.
