Would appreciate some useful feedback - apologies in advance for the tolstoy

I have a client who has registered a couple of domains names both .co.uk and .com addresses with a provider of hosting and domains registration. there are multiple issues she having, but the focus was on the fact that http://www.provider-one.net held her domain names ( one of the names had a email account set up with it, she didn’t require a webpage)

Last month her email account stopped working which was critical to her business, she tried the support lines ( on hold for 3+ hours) and generated tickets ( critical issues where dealt with in 3 or more days, or simply closed with no resolution from support) this experience suggested especially in the current climate, that it would serve her better to move all her domain names across to a new hosting provider who actually responded to support queries.

She had approximately 12 domains a mixture of .co.uk and .com address. I have successfully moved across all the .co.uk domains because for those domain extensions it requires no external support, the admin and approval for transferring was done by me with no issues.

The problem is with the 3 remaining .com names, they require unlocking and an email being forward to the admin contact ( me) from the hosting provider confirming that i would like a transfer to occur. provider-one.net isn’t sending those mails, so I get failed transfers.

Compounding this issue is that for one of my clients new registered names ( registered by provider-one.net) seems to have a admin contact hnwbspvkv@whoisprivacyprotect.com which isn’t me and seems to be someone else who has managed to get their details on the admin contacts for my domain name. – how do i get this changed back to me? The admin contact at that site is not responding.

i unlock the names to be transferred, provider-one doesn't forward the emails to confirm i want to transfer so the transfer times out. They do not respond to tickets, they do not respond to calls. their physical location seems to be a essentially a mailbox address. on their homepage they purport to be members of nominet.uk, enom, centralnic and ripencc. I just want to get back my domain names and host them at a company that actually has support for my client.

Can someone tell me what steps i need to take to get back my domains or point me in the direction of a .com authority or organisation that can help?

and if i wasn't being clear enough, stay away from provider-one.net, the worst web provider i have ever experienced truly terrible and awful

I think you need to contact your domain name registrar. It seems that is the only way to solve the problem with them

You can contact the registrar of the domain names and ask them to help.

Yeah and don't keep your domains with a hosting providers. Instead register domains at a domain registrar.

Yeah and don't keep your domains with a hosting providers. Instead register domains at a domain registrar.

That can be as with the same web hosting company as with separated domain name registrar. You need to be sure you can move anytime

Apologies for not being clearer.

Provider-one.net is her domain registrar! she registered her domain names via provider one.net they hold the names, she wants to move the names away from them.

(btw merry xmas!)

Provider-one.net seems to be a reseller of a domain name registrar. Check the whois of the domain name to find out who the registrar is. For example, if you check the whois for Provider-one.net, you will find that Enom is the registrar of the domain name.

Do you have access to the provider-one/Enom control panel to manage these domains? whoisprivacyprotect.com is Enom's private whois service. Apparently your client activated WHOIS privacy. You should be able to turn this off and also get the EPP transfer code in your control panel.

I have this same issue with whois protected domains on an eNom reseller. It's best to avoid eNom from my experience.

If the reseller is not responding you will have to contact the registrar Enom.

Hi,

you should contact enom immediately with case in hand with a copy of this issue to http://www.nominet.org.uk/ (.uk registry handler)

Ensure that you also send a letter to nominet for your .uk domains via registered post on the company owners letter head.

Enom should take care of .com. however whoisprivacyprotect is being used in the case of expired domains by Enom, hence make sure your domains are renewed and running.

I hope this will help you.

Yeah contact enom. It happened to me once too. A reseller of onlinenic was not cooperative and I had to contact onlinenic directly to get them to put some pressure on their reseller. Onlinenic was very understanding and helpful.
