That often huh. Hehehehe. I'd get pretty freaken urked. I tried pulling up their site, but can't. I was thinking about getting my 4th server with them.......until today. :D XanTium 11-24-2002, 01:10 PM I'm not on unitedcolo , but if I see the threads over here I would say "too often" jstanden 11-24-2002, 01:43 PM Seems their problem today was a $49 server set up to attack other machines. They'd probably be better off to drop the $49/mo machines (seems they're out of stock anyhow) and have people fax in a written agreement and credit card authorization form before their server is set up. The last 2-3 downtimes have been DDoSes from inside their network. :P Fahd 11-24-2002, 05:14 PM Atleast once every week for 1-3 hours! :o ReliableServers 11-24-2002, 10:10 PM Originally posted by jstanden Seems their problem today was a $49 server set up to attack other machines. The 49$ servers are always out of stock now, but the 99$+ ones are always available.....and they are the same specs. JonL 11-24-2002, 11:09 PM In the most recent UnitedColo downtime thread, someone suggested the 49 dollar servers be put on a seperate subnet and I agree. I think it would solve a lot of problems :) hostingsp 11-24-2002, 11:13 PM There shold be higher control... On does dos atack...and ban the credit card that was from the atack server.. ( ban the family name too from any sign-up form ) the $49 has lower cpu and hd and stuff now... update your mind :) the $99 has more cpu,hd,bandwight, ram and stuff installed Fahd 11-25-2002, 12:00 AM Originally posted by JonL In the most recent UnitedColo downtime thread, someone suggested the 49 dollar servers be put on a seperate subnet and I agree. Reply: "Unfortunately, placing these boxes in their own subnet will not help since their traffics also have to go through the same routers as the other customers." |
