Seems their problem today was a $49 server set up to attack other machines.

They'd probably be better off to drop the $49/mo machines (seems they're out of stock anyhow) and have people fax in a written agreement and credit card authorization form before their server is set up.

The last 2-3 downtimes have been DDoSes from inside their network. :P

Those servers got their name out. The 49$ servers are always out of stock now, but the 99$+ ones are always available.....and they are the same specs.

In the most recent UnitedColo downtime thread, someone suggested the 49 dollar servers be put on a seperate subnet and I agree. I think it would solve a lot of problems :)

There shold be higher control...

On does dos atack...and ban the credit card that was from the atack server.. ( ban the family name too from any sign-up form )

the $49

has lower cpu and hd and stuff now... update your mind :) the $99 has more cpu,hd,bandwight, ram and stuff installed

Suggested!

Reply: "Unfortunately, placing these boxes in their own subnet will not help since their traffics also have to go through the same routers as the other customers."
