well, according to Woopra someone said something nice about my VPS setup Bible, so being a curious type I popped over here, and about time too.
my name's olly, aka the_guv from guvnr.com.
an SEO-savvy web content producer (code, copy and video), I blog my experience at guvnr, tutorializing copy/paste guides with a focus for newbies .. essentially because, especially when it comes to anything Linux, most guides out there are either broken else you need a phD to understand, IMHO.
this year I wrote the 40 part VPS Bible (half on setup, half on admin) which I'll be expanding on in 2010, and also the 25-part Karmic Koala Bible which is designed to encourage noobs and intermediates to use the command line. (.bashrc is my favorite file!)
truth is, i spend far too much time looking at this screen but, when I'm not, i'm either down the pub sinking ales, else strapped to a kite-surf working them off. i live in Spain, beside the Med, and commute quite a bit to my old haunt, London.
this forum has provided me with some great help over the last few years - so thank you to the community here - and it's splendid to be involved, at last.
