Hi,

Does anyone know why a reseller customer of mine cant see his website, instead, he just sees the default Apache page.

I see it just fine, and other people i have spoken to see it fine, His customers sites are loading up fine, but his is not.

But looking on Google, even Google sees the Apache page.

He has a dedicated IP. Everything Pings fine from my end.

What else could it be?

Ask your client to ping the domain name and see what IP he's getting. It's possible that his ISP has not updated the DNS and he's still seeing the old IP address, where his website would have been deleted and so he sees the default Apache webpage. If his website is working for you and other people that would be the only possible explanation for it.

Hi Ho247,

I already got him to ping his domain and it gave him the new IP.

It is weird, cus as you say, i can see it just fine.

Anything else i can go on?

Thinking about it.. He has said to me before about his ISP being really crap at updating DNS, but that wouldnt explain Google would it?

Also, this guy is in India... Not sure if that makes a difference or not though.

Could you PM me the client's domain name and IP address so I can test it here please?

If the client's website has just been setup, could they have got the Apache default page and their computer has saved it in the cache? Ask your client to clear their cache and then load up their website again. If they ping to the correct IP address, then it should work fine... the only thing causing it now is the cache.

Got them to do all that already... Its really weird.

I am beginning to thing it is just their ISP Cache.

I got him to clear his cache and re-boot his PC, but still no good... It's got to be his ISP cache surely. Cant see any reason why not.

I'll see if i can get him to bypass his ISP.

Okay... those are the only possible solutions to the problem. Ask your client to try another ISP to see if he gets the proper website or not. Sorry I couldn't be of much help here... these are just one of those problems that you've got to use trial and error until it works.

Sounds like an ISP issue. Ask your client to ask his friends [if thet are on another ISP] to check the site and see what they get. Maybe just leave it a bit longer for full propagation etc. :)

1) try not using the "proxy" server of the ISP

2) try using another ISP!
