I'm sorry if I'm in the wrong forum for this.
I'm trying to figure out where a particular site is being hosted. The Whois lists their nameservers as:
GOOSE.EGG.NET 204.245.195.29
CUCKOO.EGG.NET 198.206.140.125
which isn't any help. Any suggestions?

You'll have to list the actual site, as the nameserver just contains the information about where it is actually hosted.

I saw the smrn.com under the egg.net lookup, but I can't imagine that's who they are really using. The site is: http://www.databacksystems.com which is a server based autoresponder service. I'd think their database GB transfer would be far beyond the smrn.com capability.

www.SMRN.COM Arin whois can give you the host/upstream. I did a trace to the domain you gave, and then grabbed the IP [206.245.233.11], and entered it into Arin.
http://ws.arin.net/cgi-bin/whois.pl
Upstream *appears* to be ClearBlue Technologies, since they own the IP block.
