Get a custom one then. It'll set you back at least a few hundred dollars.

Why don't you try and make one you like? Download Artisteer and play with it. If money is a concern then making your own may be the best solution for you.

There's also WooThemes (http://www.woothemes.com), but if a few hundred is too much, they may be a bit too costly as well. ThemeForest is probably the cheapest alternative to themes with quality.

The alternative if you want something unique, on the cheap, and are willing to put the effort in how about learning a bit of HTML/CSS and customizing a free one yourself?

Only you know what you want and Wordpress is terribly easy to use. HTML and CSS aren't even programming languages they are markup languages so they are easy to learn and work in a logical manner (more than can be said about some object based programming lanuages)

Check out Atahualpa theme. It is the most configurable theme I have seen yet.

there are two ways to get a nice template:
1) byu it
or
2) code it by yourself

Designs don't neccecerily cost hundreds of dollars. I know quite a few designers and coders that can make you beautiful websites for under $60. Pm me if you want more information, mate.

I'm curious to know how good these websites are for under $60.

Your best bet is ThemeForest.net if you don't have at least $400 to spend on a quality design from a reputable, high quality source.

Failing that, I'd recommend heavily that you learn yourself. The plus side to learning yourself is that you then have the skills to offer your services to other people and earn some money back for your time spent.
