View Full Version : What about cheap ones?
Deroba 12-18-2009, 12:14 PM Hey WHT users,
First, I got a VPS, but it wasn't to powerful for any CP, so I decided to try a free one, they worked, I just didn't like how they had to be installed and all that. So, Im currently looking for a shared or reseller.
Why not shared?
If i got shared, I would probably go with stablehost or junaweb, they are cheap because they have low resources, which is perfect for me. But I won't be able to sell hosting or just offer for free to a few friends if I wanted too.
When I get reseller, I would choose one of those two, as they are cheap, because they offer low resources. This would be perfect for me! Unless you post another :)
BTW, the VPS is for sale if anyone wants it. It's a VPSLink 3(10GB disk, 300GB BW, 256MB RAM, 1 IP) with a 3 month billing, currently I've used 1 month and 7 days, so I will sell it for $20(Only SSH, with any OS you want and all that), or $20+$15 of transfer to your account.
So... what do you recommend me for a reseller package?
StableHost, JunaWeb or other(please post price).
Remember, I dont want lots of resources, just a decent amout of disk and low price(less than $20).
Thanks a lot WHT! :D
Sorry for my english(If I had any errors)
njoker555 12-18-2009, 12:21 PM The reason VPS have to installed is because you have to make the VPS from scratch, install the OS, a control panel if ordered, any other services you may have ordered, etc. On a shared or reseller host, everything is already preinstalled on the server, all the host does for you is create an account for you there and it's easy set up.
As for selling your VPS, you can probably list that in the VPS offers pages and see if anyone would want to take over.
Deroba 12-18-2009, 12:37 PM I just saw SharkSpace offer for $18. its seems nice too.
Thanks for the advice, I will post offer as soon as I get my new host :)
BTW, How can I edit the first post? :s

Many hosts allow you to host friends sites on a Shared Hosting plan, just as long as you are not charging them to be hosted on your own account.
If you want to hosts your friends sites on your own account and charge them for it then you should put in for a Reseller Hosting plan instead.

I want them to be able to have their own CP.
BTW, you have cheap reseller too. Im looking atm

Then a reseller is the way to go. If you're on a tighter, you could contact all the hosts you've been researching and asking for a custom quote.
Deroba 12-18-2009, 01:12 PM Will do that, thanks a lot! I will do a little more researching first :) for good and low-priced reseller hosts.
If anyone wants to put their opinion about any host, please do :)
Thanks a lot
njoker555 12-18-2009, 01:14 PM You're on the path with doing research. Keep it up and good luck to you :)

Yeah, as njoker said, you will need a Reseller account for that.
Will you be also needing a WHMCS license?
If so, you can get them cheaper from LicensePal ( http://licensepal.com/products/whmcs.php )
All the best with the search.
Deroba 12-18-2009, 03:02 PM Is there any that offers SSL + IP + WHMCS + End-User Support(The resources can be 5GB disk and 100GB BW)... For less than $25. Must have a nice rep, with reviews in WHT and known
HostXNow 12-18-2009, 03:37 PM I think you could get all that with HostGator ( http://www.hostgator.com/resellers.shtml )
That isn't the best way to go about though, IMHO. It's best to pay a little more and be put on a better server so that you and your friends can use more resources like cpu/memory.
Anyway, I haven't tried the Reseller package with them. What happens with the WHMCS license if you decided to cancel the account with HostGator? Wouldn't you have to buy a new license and then set all the products/services up again?
HostXNow 12-18-2009, 03:56 PM Edit: Well I asked and they said, "You would need to buy a new license from whmcs.com".
It would take a while having to setup everything again. So it's probably best to just buy the WHMCS license from LicensePal in the first place. If you are ever not happy with a hosting provider you can just cancel the service then and continue using your license with new provider.
Deroba 12-18-2009, 04:18 PM Well, I found EZPZ fit my needs, I can get a business package with 10GB disk, 200GB BW, 100 cPanel Accs, End-User support, SSL + IP, Free domain, Free templates and Free domain & SSL reseller for $11.99 + $1.50(IP) = $13.49, who can beat that? Im still looking!

Not liking the 100 cPanel Account limit. I doubt you'll get a cheaper deal than that though.

I won't really dedicate myself to sell hosting, if someone buys from me, lucky me and him, but Its mainly for me and few people.
Plus I dont want to oversell, and I dont really care winning money...
njoker555 12-18-2009, 11:17 PM If you get a domain with namecheap you'd get a free positiveSSL (I believe it works with renewals and transfers too) - you would be able to open your window of choices a bit more. But why are you looking for end user support if you're not looking to sell hosting? This support is meant for your parent company to provide support to your clients on your behalf.
And it's fine with overselling on resellers because it's far easier to upgrade here than on a Dedicated Server.

You are right, but I will be selling hosting to some few companies I've worked(like 2-4). And it doesn't matter if they are low numbered, I won't do the support. I want this to be able to sell hosting, tho I don't want to become a hosting seller, just if someone needs it will be there, with my great service.
njoker, if you have msn/yahoo/skype or something please add me

Anybody hosting more than 100 people on a reseller is just asking for trouble...

Great choice. Remember to search the reseller hosting offers (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=130) forum where they have two very nice offers.
Edit - Nevermind I see that you posted in the hosting offers thread :)

With the 100 cPanel account limit in place you wouldn't be able to resell 136 cPanel accounts each offering 75mb of diskspace. Why limit the amount of cPanel accounts? Some may want to resell smaller plans.
Michael-DAS 12-19-2009, 10:04 AM If you're looking for end-user support, try InnoHosting (http://innohosting.com). They offer pretty much everything you've requested thus far. I've used them for past projects of mine and Rameen is a pleasure to deal with.
Deroba 12-19-2009, 07:40 PM After I compared the prices with InnoHosting, EZPZ is still cheaper

True, but they don't seem to offer end-user support. Is that something that is important to you?
Deroba 12-19-2009, 10:21 PM They do offer....
