seems as if they'r trying to keep their pricing low, as from what i heard, williams is selling it's bandwidth at very cheap prices ...

Yeah williams is pretty cheap pricing but I consider them at the same level as Cogent because personally all of my traces to williams powered servers have been crap. I hit 90ms to one provider that was in the same state as me. 100ms to Rackshack over williams versus 50ms over time warner.

This is nothing. Not surprsing at all. I've seen traces that go from Abovenet/MFN to Yipes. I've seen Williams to Yipes traces before.

It's whatever the fastest route is, I suppose.

first: i didn't say it's the end of the world. i just noticed it, and it's really the first time i've seen williams there.

From that tracert it looks as though HE.net peers with Yipes at the Palo Alto Internet exchange in CA.

Sure Yipes buys transit from a few provders, but they also peer...;)
