No AOL bashing please. This info is for those who use AOL or another dialup service and who pay the same or much more.

Here's the deal...

I've been on AOL before it went "unlimited" but decided to look into Wal Mart Connect after a member on my forums mentioned them. I did not even know this service existed.

Well, I got a little curious and downloaded the software from Walmart.com and joined the free trial period. (Same dialup numbers)

Basically, this is AOL but ran through Compuserve from what I can tell.

If you don't use the AOL chat rooms or "my hometown" features, everything else is pretty much the same. Seven screen names/email accounts. All for $9.94 per month unlimited access. That's about a $14 per month savings. Just passing the info to those who may be interested.

Here's a pic of the welcome screen.

Hmm. People only use AOL for chat rooms and instant messenging...

1) you can instant message with aim.
2) there are better, cleaner, more amusing chat rooms everywhere

So, every ISP is better then AOL, including your Walmart Connect or whatever...

No, actually people don't use AOL only for those features. There are many more that people are on AOL for, including how easy it is to use. Very good for people who are new to the Internet.

The thread said "No AOL bashing please" so I won't go and ask you for comparisons, etc.

For many people, access numbers is a problem. Except for a couple local ISP's who also charge $10 per month and offer only one email account and nothing more, I have no other option except AOL unless I want a long distance charge or signup with Road Runner.

The purpose of this post was to inform people that there is another option for them which could save them some dollars in the process.

Okay?
