IH-Rameen 12-14-2009, 11:53 PM Welcome to WHT! What particular information are you looking for? Are you looking to buy reseller hosting to start your own host? Offer reseller hosting? MAP7 12-15-2009, 12:03 AM I will be offering reseller hosting. I am open to advice and tips. njoker555 12-15-2009, 12:47 AM to offer you should look into getting a decent VPS or Dedicated server. I personally don't favor master resellers because I've seen so many come and go in a short period of time. With a VPS you'd have a lot of control and if you have no experience managing a server, getting a manged VPS would do it for you. And the most important thing you can provide for your clients as a new company is service. Don't put too much time into designing the perfect product, if you can keep your clients happy, you'll get more in no time. Good luck starting up :) -Ace- 12-15-2009, 01:00 AM Hello, If you want to be successful, I suggest you get together with your colleges and figure out what your goals are going to be. Make sure you do a lot of research, before deciding who your provider is going to be. After you have found your reseller provider and have put together a solid business plan, start working on getting your site functional. All and all, once everything is setup and functional, start promoting. I would say that customer services and site functionality/uptime is key. Best Regards, Andreyfidrya 12-15-2009, 08:46 AM I would say that all the factors listed are important. But service quality is usually taken into account by customers first of all. CrazyTech 12-15-2009, 11:31 AM My advice is to do your research. WHT is an excellent place to be able to peek into the mind of a customer and see what they're looking for. Obviously, needs and desires will vary from person to person, but you can use things like requests and reviews here to learn about the crucial points. As they say, failing to plan is a plan to fail. ;) Andreyfidrya 12-15-2009, 11:50 AM Also, launching a hosting business you should be aware of the fact that it can take for a long time before your company become a well-recognized brand at the market. Hosting is not a very easy field of business. XTremo 12-15-2009, 03:02 PM Service is the key! iHubNet-Matt 12-16-2009, 12:02 PM Quality service is the best advertisement. Though every points in your poll have its own relevance in a hosting business. JixHost 12-16-2009, 05:51 PM You will want to be able to sell both reseller plans and regular plans. You can do this with a master reseller plan or a vps. A master account will cost you less per month and is maintenace free on your part. A vps will cost you more and you have to know how and be willing to manage it. XeHSean 12-16-2009, 07:24 PM I believe that everything you mentioned in your poll is important. I'd suggest that before starting, you sit down and write a business plan addressing each of those aspects of business. pwcomputers 12-17-2009, 01:26 AM Is it possible to start as a WHM reseller and then move all of my clients to a vps in the future or would I just have to keep the WHM structure and build an annex on a vps for new clients teachforjune-Scott 12-17-2009, 08:33 AM Yes, you can start as a reseller on any platform and move your accounts to a vps or dedicated server with more control. It's not much more than a multiple site migration and with cPanel (most of the time) it's pretty easy. Though you can't always trust the migration tools of whm. They have been known to make errors and fail from time to time. DewlanceHosting 12-17-2009, 04:47 PM everything is most important if your design is bad then lots of people never purchase :( GregLand 12-22-2009, 07:40 AM Is it possible to start as a WHM reseller and then move all of my clients to a vps in the future or would I just have to keep the WHM structure and build an annex on a vps for new clients yes this is how many start out - find you a whmmasterreseller plan and start that way and when you grow you can move to vps, or dedicated, usually with the same company....if they are established |
