Ordered a server Wensday, it has been yet to be setup. Anyone else ordered a server from them recently? How often does it normally take them.

Yep, got an email last night that my server is ready. It took them roughly about 72 hours, which is fine with me I was in no big hurry.

Guess it brings us to the question of what is normal and what is acceptable. I really think the problem isn't that it takes three days, but that it is not clear up front. However, I see the cases of others who have specifically stated nothing until x date and yet long threads have started in advance of the promise date. What I have tried to do is manage my business in such a manner that 4 or 5 days is not an issue, always anticipating. Unfortunately, I am not always successful at that as I had a customer yesterday order a server that I did not yet have configured. However, I told him it would be 3-4 days up front, delayed the start of his recurring billing for 5 days, and confirmed the acceptability with him.

As to what it normally takes with DV2, I find 3 business days to be typical. And, I find that quite acceptable. I have three additional servers ordered and waiting from them at the moment, but only one of those is for a customer.

I'm with Incognito on this one.
It's not so much the delay, its more that there is no indication of how long the setup should take.

1 week ago today, we ordered one of the 'special' servers from TranX, and it has still not been setup.
Although I did not ask what the setup time was, I expected it to be less than a day or three, especially after this quote from sailor in the first thread he made about these new servers:

they will be available and prebuilt - when you pay for them you get them within the hour.

While I expect they have had many orders, we did place ours within a few hours of receiving the email saying it was possible to order the new servers. I have also received an email from engineering about some of the software I asked to be installed, so I know they are on the case. It just hasn't been made available to us yet.
For the price, it does not surprise me that there is a delay, but it would be much more professional to be provided with some estimate of when the server is going to be ready.

I contrast this with ThePlanet; we ordered a server with them on the 12th, and right from the start they indicated there would be a 48 to 72hr setup time. I was assured the server would up before the close of business on Friday (3 days after the order). Due to some difficulties with other servers, they did not have the server setup by COB, but someone continued to work until our server was ready. I think they were working well past midnight just to get our server online. This type of service is much easier to worth with. :)

Well asked for a refund from dv2. They keep saying it will be in 30 minutes, etc. Bunch of crap I'm getting sick of it got a server with another provider.
