I was one of the 4300+ employees laid off at Sun on November 15th. I was a Systems Engineer for Cobalt Networks for a year prior to the Sun acquisition, and was at Sun 2 years after the acquisition, always working on Cobalt and Linux.

While my focus has been Cobalt appliances, I also do "regular" Linux admin stuff as well (Apache setup, DNS, mail servers, some Perl/shell scripting, PHP/MySQL programming, phpBB, PostNuke, etc).

I'm based in San Diego, but willing to relocate to the Ann Arbor MI area (wife's family is there).

I'm looking for permanent employment if possible, side jobs or part-time acceptable as well.
