View Full Version : For the people who know TIMMY
Ok its about time someone says it... If all of you that have been ripped off would go here, "The Internet Fraud Complaint Center (IFCC)", this would have been taken care of long ago. From what I read he has crossed state lines so the FBI will come down hard on this if the $$ amount is up there. Here is the link to file a complaint:

acameron 11-22-2002, 09:36 PM Ummm Timmy is a minor. The most they would do is make him make payments on the balance owed and maybie some sort of cummunity service.
Ah .... but if the dollar amount is up there and he had multiple offences they will do more then you think .... trust me.
acameron 11-22-2002, 09:40 PM If we are talking over $5K he might get Juvy or some sort of counciling.

Doing something is clearly better than nothing. Obviously, he needs to learn a lesson here before it does turn into thousands and more...
acameron 11-22-2002, 09:47 PM You know if this really is Timmy it just goes to show his maturity with these stupid posts of his. The boy needs a good a$$ whoopin. My daddy would have taken a belt to me if a stranger called my house and I was committing fraud on the internet.
madmouser 11-22-2002, 11:33 PM Can't his parents get stuck with some of the penalties, too, if he's still living at home?
There was a case a couple of years ago where a kid made a fortune on the internet with a stock swindle of sorts, pretending to be an expert in newsgroups and such and got the price up and then sold.
Can't remember the details. But he got more than a slap on the wrist.
acameron 11-23-2002, 12:45 AM Not sure the laws are still very fuzy when it comes to minors, one day they cant get squate done to them the next day they are getting the death penalty.

http://www1.ifccfbi.gov/index.asp The IFCC is a good service but they will not take effective action unless it is a somewhat high-profile claim. I've also mentioned the IFCC as a solution to those scammed by Tim. Either no one took it into consideration or noting has been done to this date.
Has anyone contacted his local authorities? I'm sure if they were notified immediate action would take place.

I remember that. He made about a million, and got fined something like 2 or 300K. I'll take that punishment any day!!

Thats still better than scamming a million and being fined $0 :)
Netrilli 11-26-2002, 02:51 PM If Tim is 16 years or older (I'm positive he is by now) he can get into trouble over all this. A person who is 16 and older can legally work in US, and has to pay taxes. If Tim runs Paradise Designs or whatever the hell he's into now, it's considered a job.
The IRS can go after him for not paying taxes, and I'm sure he can get into trouble for not having a business license of any sort.
It really doesn't matter if he's a minor or not, if he makes money then Uncle Sam will want a piece of it.

Even if they don't go after him, if his parents don't claim his income on their taxes (I'm assuming he is a dependant) then they can be guilty of tax evasion.

If the dollar amounts exceed $500.00 It would constitute a Felony.
From what I have seen he has done a lot. Firs thing that comes to mind would be Theft by unlawful taking
Netrilli 11-26-2002, 04:49 PM Both posts above sound just about right. I don't know if each state does it the same way, but in Virginia you cannot operate a business without the license. If you do, there is a percentage fine for the amount you make.
The IRS however says that everything has to be reported as additional income. Anything above 10,000.00 has to be reported as a business.
Judging from the "Timmy" posts and hearing the amounts he's taken from people, certainly puts him in both of those areas. As a dependant, his parents have to claim him. However, I do not think that they have to report his income. If he is 16 and older he has to file his own 1040 form.
skelley1 11-26-2002, 04:51 PM if they claim him, they have to report his income.
