HostSector 11-22-2002, 06:16 PM Greetings,
MySQL database is expensive ($5), the rest looks good. Try searching for some info in forums besides WHT, there is not a lot here about them:

Anyway, Good Luck :)
Tobad 12-07-2002, 01:52 PM I'm just coming off of a bad experience with them.
I emailed them first and asked about the Mysql databases. Was told I can have more than one. Not true, you will be allowed to only have one with unlimited tables in it ($5 per month).
In the same email I asked about the GD library or ImageMagic. Was told they support GD library. Also not true. After spending $80 on this really cool gallery I was unable to use it. They emailed me that someone must have given me the wrong info...DUH!
Luckly for the 30 day money back guarantee...
dtrachtman 04-23-2003, 04:24 PM I have used them for a few months now, and am very disapointed. They promise free 24/7 telephone tech support, but everytime you call, you just get transferred to voicemail. That borders on false advertising to say the least. When I have interacted with their tech support, they are suprisingly unknowlegable. I suggest looking elsewhere.
hekwu 04-23-2003, 10:35 PM I did not like them either... I've posted this before so I guess you can search my name and the hosting company. I would not go back... but my experience was some many months ago.
Starmac 04-23-2003, 11:45 PM I'm looking for a web host with multiple audio streaming capabilities, which they have. So yesterday I emailed WebMasters.com Support Team from their website asking 2 questions: Can I upload using Fetch (Yes); and another question regarding shared IP addresses (No negative impact on search engine results).
The answers, which came after being kicked "upstairs" to someone more knowledgeable were delivered to my mailbox, nonetheless, in slightly under 5 minutes. In fact, I got emails all along the trail letting me know what was happening.
I was impressed with that....but now, I'm slightly gun-shy because of the previous postings in this thread. If they had a month-to-month payment program (albeit a higher price) I'd feel better about testing the waters.
Anyone know how many websites they host?

I will add that they provided me with a refund very fast... they did not fool around with my money.
Just make sure the features are REALLY there... this is what I had trouble with... they claimed some features were available and low and behold the features were not. They claimed typos on the signup page. ??? . this was me: :bawling: he, he, he.... looking for a new host.

Thanks hekwu...how long ago was that?; what features were not as they represented; and could you do us all a favor and go back and check to see if they've corrected their "typos"?

kohashi 04-24-2003, 01:34 AM Companies with typos scare me. It often means it was never spell checked. Also ppl who talk like this r very scary and i wud never do business wit em.
Try looking around for hosts that get good reviews here, its easier then searching each company. Search the ones that get good reviews and se how representative that one good post is :)
Starmac 04-24-2003, 02:21 AM Kohashi: your comments are well taken. However, I didn't post this before, but I seem to remember reading somewhere off this forum that WebMasters.com was hosting 50,000 websites. If that's true (someone correct me!), one can expect a few "problems" with those kinds of numbers.
That is why I posted the question above: "Anyone know how many websites they host?"
If they do have 50K customers, then the few who have registered their complaints here at WHT would seem well within the acceptable percentage of bad experiences with this company.
....and Tobad, dtrachtman and hekwu: you can tell me "I told you so!", if I go with WebMasters.com afterall and then come back here to bitch and complain.
