Here's the quick question. I want to add a rules of conduct section to my vb forum and I want the setup to be similar to one of on this forum (i.e. button on the top of the page that leads to the rules section). Question is how do I go about setting it up.

Thanks :)

At the bottom of the admin cp (left side navigation), you will find TEMPLATES choose modify and in the middle-ish of the page, a bold word Default and under (slightly to the right) [expand list] to see all the templates.

Since you want to add a custom one, you could have chosen add under TEMPLATES on the laft navigation menu, or you can do this by clicking:

Default [edit] [remove] [add template] [show all] [collapse groups]

If you can't take it from there, we'll try to get you going further...

God Bless Chicken :). Now another question that I have, do I have to design my own template or is there a place where I can obtain an already made one that contains what I need. :).

Thanks.

You'll have to help me out a bit more.... design your own template as in change the look of the forum, or design your own template as in that rules page?

One thing I forgot to mention is that stock vbull has an FAQ button and page. Now, we haven't had this page (look for it, you won't find it linked) and I haven't noticed any problems with that. People most likely wouldn't read it anyhow, so you could create a custom template and just copy and paste the FAQ page there (just to back it up), and modify the FAQ page to have your rules. Quick and easy.

Chicken, please bear with me for just another minute. I want to design my own template as in just that rules page and if I can get it from somwhere else and just plug it in that will work too. Actually you already answered the question as in how to do it by modifying FAQ template. :). Probably the last question that I have is it possible to add the button for rules that links to the template to the main forum, or am I limited by the number of buttons that can be displayed. And... is there a gallery of buttons that I can download instead of trying to design one myself. I am pretty new to this and don't want to run the risk of bringing the forum down.

That's it no more questions. :).

You shouldn't bring the forum down by adding a button (that's the good news). Button sets are avaliable various places and *somewhere* I have links to button places and tutorials, but a google search for vbulletin buttons would probably get you the same result. If you do replace the FAQ page, then you can just replace that button with yours, but to answer your question, there's no real limit to the number of buttons. It is more or less, just a web page.
