Hi,

Have you considered what is involved in running a hosting company before jumping the gun?

- Legal requirements
- Technical support
- Backup systems
- Overhead costs (billing systems, SSL, etc)
- Website
- Domain
- Staff
- Etc

WHMCS is needed to bill clients on a monthly or yearly basis. It will keep track of invoices for you.

Have you tried offering promotions to attract customers?

It's a lot more work than you'd think to a make few dollars per month per customer. Until I got a decent amount of customers I almost quit doing it.

It is extremely hard work to start a web hosting company. The hardest thing is attracting enough customers to make a decent amount of money and cover overheads.

My advice to you is to get a system's admin to help you at least manage the server. When you know you have a reliable "partner" then you should go out to get clients because if you try to get clients first and not know how to handle your own server you could end up in trouble by getting a bad name for poor service

I agree 100% with the previous post - take care of the operation
First get a server admin, ie. Platinum Server Management.
Next get you a good SEO'ed design
Signup Twitter, facebook, etc social networks
Maybe offer a free month ( after the first month ) to get things started

Start perhaps with friends and colleagues, etc. Even before I started a web hosting company many years ago I had many people coming up to me on a regular basis asking for web hosting for their sites or their friends' sites and people had referred them to me.

Never underestimate the power of word-of-mouth advertising. Plus, you have to start somewhere.

If I were you I would split it up into VPS and sell them off for a nice profit.

You will definitely need some kind of billing software such as WHMCS or AWBS. It will make your life so much easier. It will create all your accounts and sort out billing and invoicing for you, automatically.
