Hi

We get them as parts then build them at the IDC.

http://www.acmemicro.com/ these guys are good to buy from.

We offer the rest :)

Well, here's my delima:

I need a server because I'm not getting the connectivity I need from @webhost. I'm thinking nocster, I hear they're good, now I've seen a few saying BurstNET has a lot of connection problems too ... so I'm not sure, nor do they offer refunds. I hear FastServers.NET is great, but the 3 month minimum is just too much for my pocket.

So I'm stuck here on who to go with. I'm not wanting a whole lot, nor do I care if people can download at only 80-150KB/s or 1MB/s

Anyways.. I'm not terribly experience with linux but I can do minor stuff (Rebooting apache/server, killing processes, etc...) so basically I'd need some sort of semi-managed solution (ie, install mod_gzip for me whatever...)

I'm not looking to spend $300+ a month or anything, as all I really need is 100-150gigs of bandwidth, I don't host but maybe 30 domains total and most are very small.

I've requested servers, even asked opionons on here various times but I've mostly been pointed to places I don't feel comfortable trying out, or if I did, I ended up taking a big loss.

A lot of the ones people suggest are totally unmanaged or don't offer cPanel/WHM which is an automatic provider I can't use.

Any tips?

ServInt (www.servint.com) and would recommend then 100%. They're fully managed servers and I can say they have been amazing on that score and always willing to offer great advice and assistance whenever required.

If you don't host more then say 30 domains. Why not go get a large reseller account?

Well, you see, I did host about 60 before the last 5 months of bad providers. It's not that I don't have clients it's more like I can't keep them because of the providers I've been using have an abnormal about of connection problems ... some other problems here and there.

I also host 2 sites that use a lot of mySQL and php and get thousands of hits a day ... I prefer it to have more resources at it's disposial then leeching on a shared server. This way no one suffers. I also run other non-website stuff on the box in the background ... stuff I couldn't do with a reseller.

I've been on numerous resellers, they're just not enough for me. A VDS might be, but I've never tried one ... I'd prefer to stick to dedicated though.

Have you looked at Dedicated Now (http://www.dedicatednow.com) ? They provide mostly managed servers, they say they will support 95% of your issues. And do offer good prices plus Cpanel/WHM

Thanks,
Rob

Dedicated Now has good plans, price is kind of cheap ($100 for 500gb ??????); that doesn't sound right.

I'm also not looking for high setup fees, none are preferred, as with all the bad providers I've found I don't think throwing away $200-300 seems like a good idea right now.

Thanks for the ideas though.

I recognise your forum name. Were you told that "tech support" were not your slaves when you raised the issue about constant downtime as well? ;)

Not really.... I don't request much 'support' per say, I only inquire about downtimes. Of course I'm told nothing is wrong (of course not as the tickets are replied to hours later) so I don't know.

All I know is, 5-25+ cut outs of 30 seconds - 3 minutes a day != stable and I can't handle it.

I know exactly what you mean. When you are made out to be the bad guy because you're asking for a bit of decent uptime, it's time to walk.

Good luck in your search. DedicatedNow seem good. I've spoken to them a few times and will consider them next.

Cheers

Don't you mean TranxactGlobal.com? Or is DV2 selling direct now?

Thank you.

I'm looking but I just can't find any really .. I don't want to go with a $99/m one because to me that just seems like it will come with problems. I can't afford more then $150 a month though (unless cPanel/WHM came with it .. which I doubt it would) so I'm in a bind. Of course if I had a stable provider I could regain my clients back and I wouldn't mind paying $200-300 a month for a *quality* server.

I'd give dedicatednow a try, same with nocster, but I just can't keep moving my clients around every month and losing $100-200 a month from server moves. Hopefully, the next one I pick will be good .....
