Possible Opensource release is december 5 2009 for Kloxo and it will be released under AGPL-V3.0.

That being said, open source does not guarantee they will be able to get the source cleaned up, however possibly.

That being said, my experience with it was that it was pretty ugly to say the least, although it was extremely lightweight.

Personally I'd just say go with DirectAdmin as an alternative to Kloxo

Could it have been better? Yes, but I wouldn't say it was a complete total piece of junk. I agree with AquariusAdmin and it was indeed ugly :-/

Kloxo looks and feels bad.

I used "Kloxo" when it was still "Lxadmin" and it was "clunky" at best and insecure at worst. It may have improved since I used it.

I too used it when it was LXAdmin. Needless to say, the VPS was re-deployed with DirectAdmin. An extra $5 a month for usability goes a long way. I honestly couldn't rank it one a 1-5 scale.

Probably somewhere along the lines of -2 to -3 on a 1 to 5 scale for usability at best.

Can you use kloxo on non-hypervm vps panels?

I would never subscribe to a host that uses it.

For production kloxo is a no. but if your doing a free host then go for it. Either way source code is release so I am sure some good coder with clean it up and make it nice.

Agreed with all above, stay away from the current version. Go DirectAdmin

I am still using LXadmin on my VPS,I think its pretty easy to use.Although the most user friendly is cPanel.
