View Full Version : little cousin emergency, cheap design!
roxer 11-21-2002, 08:16 PM ok, so my little cousin`s birthday is coming up, were teaching him to play guitar so i made the incredible stupidity of asking what did he want for his birthday, so he said a zoom 505 effects pedal, wich retails for about $80. i dont have the money, so the offer comes like this:
you buy me this ebay item:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=923762210
and i make a design your website. i need this real fast, and your website will be made as fast too.
my portfolio can be seen at http://www.roxer.net .
i know this is a weird offer, but sometimes you must do desperate things :P

Regards.
flitcher 11-21-2002, 08:39 PM Whoa, this has to be up there for one of the weirdest posts I've seen. I don't mean to come across as skeptical, but this just seems a little risky for anyone to consider. It's not like we all want to spend 80 dollars either.
Not going to work.
OK what you should do is sell a design or two, then buy this zoom thingy with the money.
As your "offer" stands, there is nothing to assure the buyer of this item that the zoom thingy seller is not infact you, and somebody who really needs and wants a design would be stuck with this zoom thingy instead. and of course never hear from you again.
Secondly, I didn't see a portfolio, only a website.
roxer 11-21-2002, 08:42 PM yeah, i know, weird, but a post anyways, ive checked locally and they are about $119.99, wich is totally out of my range too :(
I do kind of agree this is a weird post, but wow! I love your site design. That type of style is great :)
Then whip up a few designs and sell them here.
You are asking someone to go out on a limb, and you do not have an established reputation yet. In other words, we don't know you, and what you are asking, I wouldn't do for my own son. (but that's because I know him, and he never pays me back when he asks for something)
roxer 11-21-2002, 08:51 PM sold. :)
Oh, hey, now we're talkin!
um, are my eyes buggy or have I seen that image before?
roxer 11-21-2002, 08:54 PM made a thread trying to sell it couple of weeks ago, buyer retracted.
I hate when that happens.
But now look, you are up to 9 posts and you have posted a design, adding to your credibility.
Good luck.
You have talent. Surely you'll be able to sell some designs to pay for what you need. I wish you the best.
Taylor 11-21-2002, 09:07 PM I love the design, gl selling it.. if i had the money or need i'd be all over it =)
w00t 100 posts! :)
GWDGuy 11-21-2002, 09:31 PM I checked out your main site and pretty different.. I liked it.. I went to ebay to see what you were looking at and figured I could help you out since $70 is not much green.. Of course I don't want to throw it away either.. What makes me nervous is you are in Guatemala which mean I can't come knock on your door if you don't deliver the goods..
When is the B-Day?? How is the shipping this going to work if someone (me) does go for this??
Robert
Acroplex 11-21-2002, 09:56 PM The design is cool, I've seen that style before but it's definitely very attractive "isometric" design.
BTW, Roxer is not a trademark yet ;)
