I am trying to install a script for someone hosted on fasthosts.co.uk servers.
The control panel is much less than they make it out to be on their site. It does not list cron as an option. I have SSH access, but the thing doesn't seem to work as every other server I have accessed via SSH. I can't get simple things such as "perl thisscript.cgi" to work let alone set up a cron job (If I even can.). I think it says "bad command" to just about everything I try. I did get "cd" and "ls" to work, but that's all so far.
I upload files to the cgi-bin and chmod the scripts to 755 and a data file to another setting. Then, I view them again via FTP they are all set to 700 again. (Not a huge deal, but that's a bit odd, isn't it?)
I can't get a simple sendmail script to work. The guy did send me what he thinks the path is, but I am not even sure there is sendmail.
To top it all off... fasthosts.co.uk online support (such as a FAQ page) is non existent!
Are there any current clients out there that can offer some insight?

P.S. What a way to earn 30 bucks!
