View Full Version : Merchant solutions for new ecom businesses
Offshoreprivacy 11-20-2009, 03:21 PM I am working on a project that will sell anonymous offshore based stored value debit cards in mass via a very large private affiliate group.
Cards are shipped with zero value and loading only via bank transfer so their expectation is very low "carding" and fraud since they would receive a plastic card of no value. All orders are also to be verified by telephone.
The issue is it is a new business and has never accepted CC's before. Looking for US merchant with reasonably fast payout and reasonable fees on an average ticket of $199.
We are not interested in those high setup fee merchants with low limits. Anticipated volume is between $20,000 and $50,000 per month.
Any ideas?
Moxie Maxwell 11-22-2009, 12:18 AM I know AVP Solutions does primarily off shore accounts (http://www.avpsolutions.com) and iwill allow you to accept credit card (http://www.avpsolutions.com/Accept_Credit_Cards_Online.php) internationally.
You won't get that good of a rate anywhere, just so you know.
Failsafe Payments 11-23-2009, 04:56 AM Offshoreprivacy; Did you find a solution yet?
CanSpace 11-25-2009, 01:41 PM Do you know what shopping cart system you will be using yet? To avoid headaches, I would make sure one of your criteria is to find a provider that uses a compatible gateway.
Offshoreprivacy 11-26-2009, 05:06 PM We have not gotten that far as we want to find a processing solution and then customize the backend to meet it's needs.
Planetventrilo 11-26-2009, 09:49 PM Have you looked at gspay?
globalshawn 11-30-2009, 04:21 PM You should look into instabill and see what they can do for you.

As far as I am concerned Instabill is nothing but a rip off. I had a client who I incorporate go to them for processing and after he paid $600 for the account they sent him to Allied Wallet who cut off his account in 2-3 days claiming Visa had complained about the site (no traffic had been sent it yet).
So Instabill & Allied Wallet/Dane Joy are just a bunch of crooks.

Hello,
Allied Wallet and Instabill are two completely separate companies. They are a business associate of ours as are dozens of other eCommerce busineses, but they are in no way affiliated with our day to day operations.
Allied Wallet does not charge any set up fees, so I assure you that if a merchant was shut down within a few days of being setup, then it was for a justifiable reason. Furthermore, Dane Joy is no longer an employee at Allied Wallet. Our company was bought out earlier this year and put under new ownership, we have been truly thriving since and seen an explosion in growth.

Derhammer 12-03-2009, 05:51 PM This one is a tough one. Anytime you are working offshore, it gets real "iffy" as far as the underwriting departments go with the bank processors. A little more detail might help. Are your customers buying/adding value to these pre-paid cards with a credit card/ACH transfer of their own? When a customer wants to activate or add value to the card, will they do it from a website, or will they call in an order and a return call be sent to their phone number on file? Would the average ticket be $199? Would the customers be using foreign currency (non USD)to add value to the card? (Dynamic Currency Conversion?)

I apologize for generalizing, yes, they are two different companies of course, Instabill is the company that charged our client $600 for the account and turned them over to Allied. Granted, the client was a "OEM" marketer, but the past owners should not have accepted it if they did not believe in good conscience they could provide the service.
Those of us in the offshore corporation/banking business face this issue daily, it is easy to just take the money and then later say "I am sorry we could not find a bank to open your account because...", but it is not the right way to do business and in the long run it is counter productive.

I completely agree that it is extremely counter productive.

Sadly though, every now and then we do find merchants whom we accept, but then come to find that what they are actually processing for is not what they claimed it would be. Typically our fraud system catches this quickly and we are forced to close that account. In any case, I do sincerely apologize for any past frustrations that were caused in the past.

In defense of Instabill, I know that they only charge the set up fees they do once the have found a home for the account, and the terms and conditions have been approved and negotiated between the aquiring bank and the merchant, so I hardly think they are scamming, especially since their whole value add is the ability to find a home for a business no one wants to process for.
Gharibe 12-15-2009, 08:14 AM you can go with Gate2Shop , its good . and maybe authorize.net
