I have a domain name registered on Voyager. Does that mean it has to stay there? I assume from reading about transferring files, that you can change, but how? And who?
Thanks.

Thanks. alice TowerHost 11-21-2002, 12:14 PM I think you mean can you transfer domain registrars? If you are near the domain expiration renew your domain with your current registrar or you might have problems and not renew the domain in time. okihost 11-21-2002, 12:17 PM Whats your domain? If you are listed as the registrant all you need to do is go to somewhere like godaddy and transfer the domain. An email will be sent to the registrant of the domain and one email to the email you used when doing that transfer at godaddy. If you tell us your domain we will be able to tell you if you can do it or not.. There have been known cases of domain hyjaking(sp?) so nothing would really suprise me. Lamirona 11-21-2002, 03:09 PM Please bear with my ignorance on this. I took a class that included a domain (www.lamirona.com). The company is now Voyager.net. I didn't sign up for it or pay for it, it came with the class-I just chose the name and the school did the rest. I've had trouble getting the site to work; not because of anything the company has done wrong, just because I'm very new at this, and when I've e-mailed or called them, they aren't very user friendly for beginners. The site would be for a very small home-based business. I would welcome any suggestions you more experienced people might have as to how to change it, and who to change it to. Thanks. alice KG 11-21-2002, 03:24 PM Since it will expire in 2 days (I looked it up), I would go ahead an renew it while on Voyager and then if you want to change hosts (and being a former Voyager customer I don't blame you) you can do it. If New Horizon's in Cincinnati won't help you change the administrative contact, and they should, see if Voyager will change it for you. If you have to go up the chain at NH do so. |
