You will get many answers to this question, everyone has a favorite, before I started myself I preferred GODADDY, do a search on google and compare some of them and look for any "extra" charges they me have

Namecheap.com is the best one I have ever dealt with. They have fast and friendly support reps, and the panel is easy to use and well layed out. I have over 9 names with them currently, and never doubt them for a split second.

I've never had any problems with Registerfly (http://www.registerfly.com/).

www.dotster.com has been good to me throughout the years.

GoDaddy.com and NameCheap.com are probably the first prime candidates you should choose. Not only are they at the industry's lowest price, but they offer good support as well.

000domains.com is also a prime choice. :)

NameCheap.com is the best. Dotster is the worst. I just bought a domain from somebody that had it with Dotster and I can tell you firsthand that their management interface is terrible.

Yeah Dotster's back-end is not exactly the most friendly one around :D

I used to use godaddy.com but I needed free redirecting for domains...

I still have two domains with godaddy.com but I now use directnic.com because they have a lot more features, and the interface is user friendly IMO...

I've got 4 domains with directnic and 2 with godaddy :)

Go Daddy does offer free domain forwarding.

NameCheap, and most enom resellers, for that matter, is better than godaddy. I'm surprised more people haven't realized that by now.

I've used NameCheap and GoDaddy. My preference is NameCheap.

www.godaddy.com
9 domains

have used them since the days that network solutions finally lost the monopoly.

www.namescout.com
1 domain

had a huge problem with them. not their fault but could not transfer to them. they refunded my money. 3 months later i get an email saying the tranfer was sucessful, no charge...i get an extra 3 months on my domain.

www.namecheap.com
8 domains

www.stargate.com
1 domain
cheap registration at the moment.

www.dotregistrar.com
1 domain

i have and always will be a big fan of godaddy over the others. it is really preferences, some have cheaper add-on services and other features.

what i need is

domain lock which is free with godaddy.
updating of dns

goddaddy does this as well as any. never used help desk/support of any of the services with the exception of namescout due to the tranfer problem.

I have many domains at

Namecheap (http://www.namecheap.com)

Registerfly (http://www.registerfly.com)

Godaddy (http://www.godaddy.com)

My choice is Namecheap, because their support is very fast, reliable and polite. Also, their domain manager is very easy to use and offers all you need.

The best place to buy a domain is that place which offers the features that you need. That said, I'm a fan of NameCheap.

http://www.000domains.com & http://www.directnic.com

I have been pleased with both, and would highly recommend the two.
