I'm really curious if you've ever signed a customer who found through searching forums. Me personally I search google and go from there.

Absolutely. Especially here. Many users come onto WHT and search through reviews and feedback about hosting companies. Many also check out the offers forums as well.

WHT threads turn up in Google searches all the time. A lot of people that are searching for hosting find their way here.

Any exposure is good exposure, and I promise you that most webhosting proffessionals browse these forums hoping they they will be seen or noticed by customers. Just being on this forum helps gain reputation and noteriety in the community, and that helps leads to sales if you are good at what you do.

Yes, many of our customers have come from forums like WHT. People come to forums to look for reviews.

I joined whilst searching for hosting, especially as most hosts have special deals on the forums here.
Research a host I want if they don't live up to the hype check for something else, if they good check for money off or special offers.

I would have used a top hosting site but I found they all had the same hosts and I didn;t believe the majority of their reviews.

Yes, we get clients regularly from forums like WHT.

I think more so for VPS or dedicated services and reseller, but it holds true for shared hosting accounts as well.

I would say that over 80% of our clients have come from posting on forums such as WHT.

Account's signature on a forum is a perfect promotion method.
A lot of people visit the hosts' site through the link in their signature.
And easily,you can check the webhost forum section.You will found so many threads on asking whether anyone heard of example.com..bla.bla.bla.

I totally believe that the people comes to the forums to check the reviews and the feedback of their customers. This can help to judge them about the host customer support and their services.

If you look at this forum you'll see many threads where people are searching for advice on which web host to choose.

I doubt people would choose a host based only on what people have said on forums but the service others have received will contribute.

I personally do not think they come searching for Hosting per se. Most forumers here either own a hosting company is about to. (whether registered or not)

I bet customers do look on forums for good hosting.

I'm sure there are a lot of people out there that look for hosting or hosting recommendations on forums but I'm sure most of them just use Google to find a host. If I remember correctly I found my first host on Google. Good old dreamhost, I actually still host a few sites there, well actually my wife does.
