I remember awhile back someone posted a thread about "AI" and ran across "Alicebot". I re-installed it eariler today, and decided to follow up on it and I came acoss this (http://pandora.franz.com/pandora/talk-oddcast?botid=f6d4afd83e34564d).

I think it is kinda neat, and I think this would be an interesting thing to see on some sites, or even offer support... Till that price tag gets you... The cheap one runs $17,000 :eek2:

Just figured I'd post this since I remember some people posting it will be good for "support related issues" or perhaps serve as a FAQ...

Heck of a price tag. She is amusing though..

hmm, i think geniune support is a better option. $17k pays for a real person too :)

A real person can't easily answer 50 people at the same time though:)

You are probably remembering my adventure with SSonicBot. Maybe when I have more time I will finish him up:)

If it's anything like the bots at MSN it'll spurt rubbish :) I'm still bitter over having to talk to one of those a year ago

Sprint PCS has a pretty interesting implementation of a bot. For those of you who use SPCS you know what I'm talking about probably. Her name is Claire and I don't like talking to her, but she does, at times, actually prove to be helpful and it sure is faster than waiting on hold.

Me and someone else is looking for a way of reproducing this without the cost :)

I would install the base ALICE on my site, but the install procedure is a little extreme and I don't think my host would care too much about me running over 41,000+ MySQL queries. They take 3 and a half minutes on my computer.

but what if you don't like thier voice, clothes, gender, etc., you can change it. :) I also don't think it would complain about being payed to little, not enough (too many) hours off. Also, for the hosts that like scamming people once they loose all their clients, the host can talk to this unless if thier clients brainwashed it.

Ohh, the possibilities :D
