hfallen 11-19-2002, 08:00 PM Thanks, pcsteve, for the offer. Try again.
I appreciate it!
Acroplex 11-19-2002, 08:05 PM Wrong forum folks. Try "Related offers & requests".
AHDOnline 11-19-2002, 08:06 PM Do we have to try to guess your price?
Sorry Steve please try again. Door #1 or #2 remember steve you only have two more guesses left..
AlternativeHost = 15
hfallen 11-19-2002, 08:34 PM Thanks guys for the offers. In all seriousness, I am looking for genuine offers only. Some of the names may not be great, but surely most are worth more than $10 or $15.
pcsteve 11-19-2002, 08:42 PM Well how about listing a price range you would like us to bid in?
Much better. ;)
hfallen 11-19-2002, 08:48 PM Thanks for the interest, pcsteve, but to be honest with you - I don't have a set amount I am looking for. Of course, each name has a different value in my mind.
Although I think your idea of listing how much I want is a valid one, I don't however think that's the way I want to handle it, with all due respect.
If you are interested in a particular name, please send me an email or openly bid on the forum (if that's allowed) and I will kindly have a dialog with you until we reach an acceptable price.
I'm not looking to retire off the sale of these names, but they are worth more than what was offered.
allan 11-19-2002, 09:54 PM $12 for ultrafastdns.com -- and that is a serious offer, because I can get:
ultrazippydns.com
ultraspeedydns.com
ultraquickdns.com
ultrarapiddns.com
accelerateddns
bluestreakdns.com
flyingdns.com
velocitydns.com
prontodns.com
revdns.com
dashdns.com
screamingdns.com
(or, its colloquial cousin): screamindns.com
chopchopdns.com
warpspeeddns.com
For registration fee. So, unless you can come up with a more unique name, don't get snobby :).
allan 11-19-2002, 09:55 PM Actually, I liked bluestreakdns.com so much, I went ahead and registered it :), so you can't have that.
pcsteve 11-19-2002, 10:18 PM LoL uuallan :emlaugh:
hfallen ...if the supply is greater than the demand...then your price realistically cannot be higher than market price ....therefore, you should have taken the offer and run! Oh well.
Not trying to be a smart ass..just pointing out a fact....that's how the economy operates....and everyday business...well at least in a free market ;)
Eco 101 .....
hfallen 11-19-2002, 10:22 PM uuallan, I'm not getting snobby. I just feel some of the names are worth far more than the $10-15 fee.
I don't understand why people are so quick to jump down the throat of others in this forum. Maybe it's because of the anonymity involved, I don't know.
I'm really glad you were able to look up so many DNS names. You're missing the point. I own a domain name which I feel has value. So, I'm trying to sell that domain name for it's perceived value. That's it. No snobbery involved.
If I don't get an acceptable offer here or anywhere, then I will gladly keep it. I happen to think it's a name with great potential.
I also think you looked up a few goods ones yourself!
hfallen 11-19-2002, 10:28 PM pcsteve, i respect your comments. However, I beg to differ.
There is no "supply" - merely one domain name. This is a unique product in that there is no other UltraFastDNS.com on this planet.
So, the "demand" lies when someone realizes the value in that name and feels the need to own it, at an acceptable price.
Just my opinion.

You are correct. I reread my post and it sounded a little harsher than I intended. I think my point is stil valid, but I meant to give more of a ribbing than a flame, my apologies.
hfallen 11-19-2002, 10:41 PM uuallan, no problem. No need for apologies.
Anyways, I don't want to get into whole discussions about economics because I don't claim to be an expert on it.
I just have a few good domain names that I would like to sell because I'm not using them at the moment. If I had time, I would find a use for all of them.
Again, if anyone is interested, you can email me at: info@wellingtonet.com.
Thanks!
pcsteve 11-19-2002, 10:42 PM Well by supply i meant that anyone who made an offer ...and it was turned down..could simply go and register:
ultrazippydns.com
ultraspeedydns.com
ultraquickdns.com
ultrarapiddns.com
accelerateddns
bluestreakdns.com (already done...great example)
flyingdns.com
velocitydns.com
prontodns.com
revdns.com
dashdns.com
screamingdns.com
(or, its colloquial cousin): screamindns.com
chopchopdns.com
warpspeeddns.com
This is the supply (above domains)...they're so many that are similar...it simply lowers the value of UltraFastDNS.com ...thereby, no one would pay more than the market value ..which is determined by supply and demand....and the currently market value for UltraFastDNS.com would be just a tad higer than your registration fee ....which could be as low as 8.95 via godaddy.com
so.. ;)
Well..i do think it's a great domain ...and i wish you luck. I personally would go higher....but i think i have enough domains already :cartman:
I'm sure someone will purchase it at an acceptable price.
If i came across as flaming...then plz accept my apologies.... :)
best wishes and i am going to shut up now ;)
hfallen 11-19-2002, 10:49 PM Hey, thanks! I appreciate it. I understand your point. However, I still don't quite agree. What about the domain "Microsoft.com". Do you honestly think that "Minisoft.com or Smallsoft.com or Microsquishy.com" would actually lower the inherent value of Microsoft.com? Albeit, UltraFastDNS.com is not in the league of Microsoft.com, it's still the same principle.
And, I don't even think that name is my best name. If I loved it so much I'd be using it, don't you think.
I'm sure someone will love it more than I do.
Southernman 11-19-2002, 11:43 PM hfallen, good to see some level-heads prevailing... others here don't take to kindly to constructive criticism, and start flamming away.
Just a tip, that "I" find to be of good use by one of your competitors (domain gurus that you are... :D )
When you post the names, maybe you could also post your lowest acceptable offer. This way, no one has to take the chance to insult the worth of your domains.
You all that list the names that are available should check to see if TimeChange is hiring, or pays a finders fee! :D You all should know that timers frequently grazes in the pastures of WHT... teheee ;)
back to topic now...
hfallen- Out of curiosity, how much are you looking to get for WebDesignGuild.com?
weeps 11-20-2002, 08:59 AM I have no idea what your looking for..
20$ for Origital.com
hfallen 11-20-2002, 11:45 AM I'm not insulted ever by an offer. If it's not what I feel the domain is worth then I won't be willing to sell it.
Again, I don't want to post minimum values on the names. I think they all have some value, some more than others. Am I looking for more than $50 on any of them? Probably yes, with the exception of maybe a few.
So, please just post what you are willing to pay for the domain or shoot me an email and we will go from there. Start small if you have to and I will let you know if it's acceptable. I'm sure nobody wants to start high, cause you can never go down, only up.
WebDesignGuild.com - starting at $100+
UltraFastDNS - starting at $100+
Origital.com - actually wanted to use it, but if I get a good offer, it's gone!
info@wellingtonet.com or post an offer! Thanks!
interactive 11-21-2002, 06:32 PM I'll tell you that you've come to the wrong forum for $100 for a domain like WebDesignGuild.com. Not trying to start trouble though. Go over to dnforum.com and they'll give you a good appraisal
hfallen 11-21-2002, 08:35 PM Thanks Interactive! I'll check them out.
