I see ISPeed advertising all the times on these forums, so I thought I would share my absolutely horrible experience with them.
I signed up with them for their $5.00 VPS, thankfully I used a virtual credit card that can only be charged once, I had that strange "Too good to be true" feeling I wouldnt be with them more than a month. I signed up, got my login information, only to find out that when I logged into my account the control panel webmin was not installed like had been promised in the plan.
Ping times were absolutely horrible, the server was unbearably slow, so I emailed support. Once via email. No reply within 48 hours. Then again by a HelpDesk ticket. Still no response. I got the person on AIM once, but once I stated my issue, surprisingly I got no response. So I emailed additional tickets. Still nothing. I then sent in five requests for my account to be cancelled, still nothing.
Ive had bad support before, but NEVER have I received NO support or response. This is nothing short of a complete scam, and I would love to hear others' experiences, as I really dont think they differ much from mine.
It was only $5.00, and they cant bill my card again, so Im not too worried, but Ive never experienced such crappy service like this.

Id be more than happy to provide a moderator with the IP address I was given, but since Ive been unable to login and change the password, an EXTREMELY generic one, I really cant post it for everyone to see.

Ive actually gotten a lot of PMs about that, so let me copy/paste citibank's press release, they say it best:

DD-SNC 11-20-2002, 12:35 AM A couple of months ago ISpeed was a horrible shell provider that tried it's luck and failed miserably.
I didn't want to post in their advertisement form and down-talk them because I knew it wouldn't be too long before people were hear posting their experiences..
I used to get customers weekly that were switching from ISpeed that would praise our service and thank us for not being like that.. That's pretty bad..
StarGhost 11-20-2002, 09:10 PM I had *EXACTLY* the same experience, literly. The connections were horrible for me too, took about 10-15 seconds to even connect to the server. Webmin was also not installed for me, like I was told it would be. Unfortunately I lost more than $5, I lost $25 ($10 + 15 for setup)... no response on AIM when I asked for a refund. Thankfully I also did not use a CC, rather used paypal. A proper host should address all problems, but ispeed has an away message all the time on their AIM so that if you ask them a question that they don't understand or don't want to answer, then they are covered (can just claim they are "away").
I would stay away from them. They don't seem very compitent. I don't want to speculate, but I got the feeling it's run by a 16 year old or something.

jmc67 11-24-2002, 06:45 PM Ispeed, when do you plan on responding to the helpdesk tickets?
I have 2 tickets which you haven't responded to. One being 7 days old and the second 2 days old. If you don't plan on taking care of your clients, then you should not be in the hosting business. I am extremely dissappointed with your service. Those who plan on getting these vps servers, it is not worth it. Use your $5.00 or whatever amount it is and do something else more productive with it.
Tyrbo 11-26-2002, 04:35 PM Well, I currently have a VPS 512 with iSpeed, and I have to say it is great. Fast connections, doesn't take me long to connect. I can usually get the guy on aim, otherwise I can just go to the helpdesk.
Let me just say that iSpeed is good, by the way, I don't work for iSpeed, I am just a customer and these are my own words.
Anyways, back to my great iSpeed VPS.
