View Full Version : New to reselling. Just have a question on billing :)
hello there,
I have a few clients that i would like to resell hosting to but i thought(for some reason) that i would be able to bill them through cpanel itself. After going through cpanel This doesn't seem like case! So i was wondering, How do you guys go about billing clients? Just direct debits?
Thanks for any advice!
IGXHost 10-29-2009, 12:50 PM cPanel itself does not provide a billing system. I highly recommend you look into WHMCS or ClientExec. They provide modules for cPanel/WHM so that it can automatically provision accounts and it provides a fully functional billing and invoicing system for you to manage your clients.
MichelleH 10-29-2009, 12:50 PM There are many billing systems you can use. Some resellers offer free ones so check with your current host. There is Client Exec, WHMCS, and many others. Personally I like WHMCS the best!
vincent91326 10-29-2009, 12:50 PM Yeah i would go with WHMCS Which is very easy to use.
MikeTrike 10-29-2009, 01:00 PM I've used both WHMCS and ClientExec, I like them both. WHMCS is definitely a front runner in my opinion.
SingleHopSteph 10-29-2009, 01:03 PM Sounds like WHMCS will probably be your best bet. Check out this thread from not too long ago http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=884794&highlight=whmcs hope this helps! :)
ldcdc 10-29-2009, 03:12 PM Try to get the WHMCS license via your hosting provider if possible, as it will typically be cheaper (as a reseller of WHMCS, they get a discount which they typically pass on to their customers).
-Ace- 10-30-2009, 09:09 PM WHMCS and ClientExec are both great products.
I would also suggest looking at awbs.com
WHMCS would be my choice. It is easy to use, powerful and the license is relatively inexpensive.
qbellc 10-31-2009, 03:30 AM I would also recommend WHMCS, if you find a good reseller plan you might even get it for free or for small monthly fee.
IfHost 10-31-2009, 05:12 AM cPanel itself does not provide a billing system. I highly recommend you look into WHMCS or ClientExec. They provide modules for cPanel/WHM so that it can automatically provision accounts and it provides a fully functional billing and invoicing system for you to manage your clients.
This is your answer answer. I would suggest WHMCS over clientexec anyday.
ItsJustHosting 10-31-2009, 06:34 PM I would definitely recommend WHMCS as well.
might_b 10-31-2009, 11:35 PM Can any one mention few free billing software to use for my reseller hosting ?
would be more appreciative.
Thanks.
donbiz 10-31-2009, 11:41 PM If you are looking for a reseller hosting plan then I would suggest finding a provider who also offers a free license for WHMCS or some other billing system with purchase of their reseller as a lot of hosts do now.
monitor2000com 11-02-2009, 07:55 AM recommend you to use WHMCS
You can download the FREE Trial and use it for 15 Days ,
CH-Shaun 11-02-2009, 08:04 AM WHMCS is what most hosts are using these days.
Hydro_Host 11-02-2009, 09:14 AM cPanel does not offer a billing solution at present. There are many systems you can use, AWBS and WHMCS which you do have to pay for but it is well worth the money.
Some hosts give you a licence with their plans. Try and find these.
WoofHosting 11-02-2009, 11:11 AM We recommend WHMCS to our resellers.
iHubNet-Matt 11-02-2009, 02:54 PM From experience I too would like to suggest WHMCS .
orchardhosting 11-03-2009, 08:00 AM WHMCS everytime. Used both clientexec and WHMCS and WHMCS by far a better system.
chhost-VPS 11-03-2009, 12:07 PM many provider come with very low cost or free billing system. recommended WHMCS
JamieJ 11-03-2009, 10:55 PM WHMCS for sure. I tried ClientExec for about 2 weeks and really didn't care for it. Changed to WHMCS and couldn't be happier.
314Hosting 11-03-2009, 11:01 PM Another vote for WHMCS

I believe that you can get phpcoin through the Fantastico panel. It is a free program and was originally created to be geared toward the hosting industry.
cpoalmighty 11-11-2009, 09:24 PM Another vote for WHMCS :D great software and also check out their home site and forums where you will gain even more insight into what it has to offer
recoil 11-11-2009, 09:35 PM Another vote for WHMCS (after extensive production use of Modernbill, AWBS, and Platypus). Try the free trial. Also, some reseller providers offer WHMCS and other products as part of their packages.

Some webhost do not have phpcoin included in their Fantastico panel, you can download from phpcoin website.
