What are you views on rackshack for hosting.
For a startup I am looking at going with rackshack and wondering what peoples thoughts were.
Are they looking at going belly up anytime soon ?
i did a search and found quite a bit but wondering if anyone can give me pros and cons of hosting with them.
IS ensim better than cpanel I have never used or seen ensim.
Thanks

Rackshack wont go belly up.. there doing a great job and cant build servers fast enough!! I think they plan/have bought a second datacentre too.
You need to know what your doing because they are unmanaged servers.
Ensim is not as good looking as cpanel, and has less features - but its functional, fast and affordable. All our accounts use ensim with various customisations - we have no complaints.

Hello,
They are doing very well in my opinion. I have worked for other web hosting companies and I just don't see the added benefit of buying the servers outright for 2-3k a piece and the racks and the bandwidth when you can give the same level of service by paying $200 startup for a server for the first month and you get 400GB of bandwidth per server. It only makes sense if you want to offer Colo. Anyway, their uptime has been great and the support is pretty speedy too.

Ensim is very customisable.. but its not easy.
Its fully skinnable also and ive seen some skins which are much better than cpanel - but skinning is hard and i havent yet found a free skin.
www.skinensim.com is some site starting up soon i think.

Rackshack has improved a lot lately, reboots happen a lot faster than a year ago, and network uptime on their network is damn good, yes there's better but you're gonna pay a good bit more for that better. Overall I'm quite pleased with them and plan to keep using them for a new upcoming project.

Only major problem I've had with Rackshack is that they aren't able to allocate new IP addresses to servers. On one of my servers, I wanted to upgrade a customer to SSL and needed another IP for that. They said they had run out of addresses on that subnet.
