Hi All,

I have a problem with addon domains.
the main host is www.xxx.com the subdomain is yyy.xxx.com
now the yyy subdomain is also an addon domain so ie:
www.yyy.com goes to yyy.xxx.com and ultimatly to www.xxx.com/yyy ... this is the way cpanel sets it up.

Now if I type: www.xxx.com/test/index.html everything is fine
however if I type www.xxx.com/test , which should in theory be the same since the file index.html / index.htm exists, the address resolves to yyy.xxx.com/test/index.html ... which dos not look good for sites hosted on the www.xxx.com domain ...

I do realise that typing in the full URL or even including it in a link will solve the problem, I however want to avoid the possibility of anybody typing the wrong URL and comming back with the subdomain of the parent site.

Any suggestions .. txs

I dont really see the big deal here.. it all stays on the same domain, changing to a subdomain doesnt really matter.... does it ?

Yes, but I do not want the parent host to appear on the URL line ...

since www.yyy.com now resolves to yyy.xxx.com ... and it's nobody's business thta yyy is hosted by xxx ....

ahh now i understand... i think you should contact your host, thats bad :)
