Okay so we are setting up our new Windows server and hosting network and are considering whether or not to add a Linux Box...

My first guess would be no because our marketing is targeting mainly ASP & .Net developers along with small business owners.

Do you think it is work it to take the time and money to learn how to admin a Linux box correctly?

I say no stick to what you know best, but my partners are interested in keeping their market open.

What are your thoughts on this?

Diversity is nice. You will be able to offer more services and appeal to a broader group of potential customers; however, if your administrators know nothing about Linux, it might not be such a good idea. Problems will arise with the kernel, httpd, ftpd, mysqld, hardware etc and only experience will be able to aid in such cases. You can of course post here, search the net, call various Linux tech support companies but in the meantime your customers will not have service. I think a slow integration of Linux would work best so your administrators can get comfortable with Linux.

Just my 2 cents :)

Sticking to what you know is never a bad thing!
