Hi there guys, im new here, like many people i have been looking into the merchant account, payment gateway, 3rd party etc... for my new site. ( im trying to get it up for xmas )
I have been looking for a while now, and the more i look the more stumped i get, so any help or advice would be much appreciated. so many people say different types of things.

perfect world i understand is to get a merchant account, but from what i hear you need 6 months of trading with a low charges.

i have recently set up buisiness banking and cyprus, and would like to have my funds deposited into there. ( they dont do merchant accounts there )

i have no credit history
site is very similar to mydsgame.com
my site is in magento
i would like to take all types of card payments and currencies

from my understanding i would not qualify for a merchant account, but would i qualify for an internet merchant account ? if so could i get them to deposit my money to my cyprus account ?
or should i be looking at 3rd party proccessor.

some one with a bit of knowledge please help me........... im driving myself mad, been looking for weeks

thanks

i was looking at authorize.net, but you need a merchant account

Most people start out with either paypal or google checkout. They have almost an instant setup and you can accept all types of payments.

You could also check out alertpay, chornopay, moneybookers or 2checkout.

There are probably a bunch of compatible payment gateways listed in your magento admin area.

PayPal would be a great option to start off with. Give it a try.

Later on, perhaps look at adding a merchant account once you have more transaction volume.

Try using offshore third party processor, you might get favaroble processing rates for your business.

I think globill.net charging fee 2% of transaction amount..it is low fee compare than paypal.

According to their website, they seem to charge much more than 2%.

I think Paypal and MoneyBookers would both be suitable for your business without open a merchant account.

Have a nice day,

Firstly...never replace "x" for "Christ"!!!
Secondly...you can use a whole host of providers to get your money to your bank account. I would recommed using Plimus because they accept all forms of payment including paypal

Apparently they are out of business

They went out of business a few years ago 6 years ago. They lost processing and many webmasters (probably all of them in fact...) lost their money...
They got back in the business this year (I think) but i don't know if it's the same people running the company. If so, I would strongly advise NOT to work with them. If they are different people, what a funny idea to have chosen this name...
