I have Cpanel 5.3 on my server, and i made my friend an ftp account, i don't have a domain yet, i got an ip adress that i can view my site on. How do i find out how my friend can get into his ftp account?

Connect using ftp://<ipaddresshere> and have your friend enter his/her username and password :)

It doesnt ask him for his acc name or password though.

Please tell me if that works with 5.3. For some reason, virtual ftp accounts will not work on my server ever since I upgrade (for directories in an account).

Use this

ftp://<username>:<password>@<ipaddresshere>

It wont popup asking for the login information if you are on a shared IP.

Use an FTP program instead of your browser, Flash FXP and Cute FTP are very good.

Thanks rochen i got it to work :).

I had a virtual account under the server's main IP, when I changed that, it did work.
