If their hosting support is as good as their external cPanel license support, they will be fine to work with.

and just to clarify, it's a DOS attack, not DNS attack, DOS stands for Denial of Service (or dosile operating system). DNS standards for domain name servers . They are 2 completely different things. But they could have had a DOS attack against their DNS servers. But that's not likely.

lol...it's actually DrDOS (distributed reflection denial of service) or disk operating system (DOS).

I'm a hostany reseller. Their response is reasonably good and agreed that their pricing is rather attractive.

One setback is that they have been saying that their new site (with support ticket) will be up in a week when i signed up, but after 1 month now, their new site is still non existing. :(

I also find out that their server load is rather high at times, but it run rather smoothly for most of the time. Only experience 1 downtime during the 1 month stay .... Generally, they are quite OK.

Hmm one of the reasons I am switching hosts is because of slow load times too often. Is this a problem frequently?

We're very sorry, we're actually been working on the website and the support desk is up. What we're doing right now is the setup our own network and move out of our current provider and start to operate our own network/servers.

You can have a look at our new website at:
http://www.hostany.com/hostany_com.htm
And our new support desk at:
http://www.hostany.com/support/

I can promise you everything will be done in 2 weeks time, at least the support desk with SMS function working properly.

We've had a user running runaway script and slowed down our server for 2 days and we've asked him to leave right away and the load is back to normal now, we'll soon to have all the P4 2.4Ghz machines with at least 1.5GB RAM, Western Digital Harddisk with 8MB cache (Fastest IDE drive) and SuperMicro Mother boards in order to provide the most reliable and fast service to every of our users.

All of our current users will be receiving a letter regarding to the move, we'll provide weekly backups free of charge as well which we've never offered.

Regards,
Eric Lo

Other than the unpredictable server load (which they claim they have solved the problem), i think they are pretty good host to go with.

The have great servers (i'm currently hosted in a P4 2Ghz with 1GB Ram) and their respond is reasonably good too.

Mattsharp: server load and slow load times may not be the same. i.e slow load times can be due to slow pipes, while for server loads, it's about the CPU .

Ok, so how does that translate for me the user?
