UH-Matt 11-18-2002, 05:56 AM How experienced with unix are you? If you dont have a clue then go for a managed solution (but this will cost you more) Otherwise go for a cheap one to learn on then think about a more serious package. 3listen 11-18-2002, 06:38 AM Originally posted by UH-Matt How experienced with unix are you? Then where can i find a cheap and *bad* server? UH-Matt 11-18-2002, 06:39 AM rackshack.net - $99 month unitedcolo.net - $49 month 3listen 11-18-2002, 06:45 AM but unitedcolo.com dont have 49 dollars one orelse i bought one already! rackshack..99 is too expensive for experience anyone can share? Angel78 11-18-2002, 07:39 AM http://www.nocster.com/closeout.shtml 79$ and those 49$ servers are not available for a long time so i guess it is just a marketing trick. UH-Matt 11-18-2002, 07:48 AM why not buy a rubbish pc (150Mhz or something) and install linux .. no monthly fee then :) Darth 11-18-2002, 08:19 AM All this people want to make lots of $$$. So they think "I'll just order a cheap server and sell space and makes lots of $$$!.". Then they order the server and get the setup email Hello Mr Newbie you can now access your server on the ip 127.0.01. Then there totaly lost. Back to darth.. Sorry but this is annoying. I have seen tons of threads with the title "I need cheap dedicated server". It's getting annoying now :bawling: if your serious about your business then save up the cash and pay more for quality!. This has got to be my longest post ever! (and tons of spelling mistakes to) :D dherman76 11-18-2002, 11:38 AM The influx of newbies in the market is getting bigger everyday. I would hang around WHT and read up on how to do things- then ponder with a server. Start with a local machine with unix and learn.
