Any updates on your experiences with Payquake? I've been contemplating utilizing paysystems in combination with propay (propay would be strictly for over the phone type of orders), but it would be nice to be able to handle web and phone transactions with one account.

I read the long thread regarding payquake but did not really see specifically any customers who could say whether they're happy or not.

I am a newbie in regards to payment gateways, but from what I can tell with authorize.net (which payquake uses??), I could basically just have a section on my site that links to their site when customers are ordering. This would mean I would not have to get my own SSL certificate. As far as I understand it, having my own SSL would allow me to have a specifically branded payment/order page (i.e. secure.mydomain.com), but I'm not really that concerned with that, I'm most concerned with just having an SSL protected page that they can order from, and that I get paid :)

Comments anyone? Appreciate any info you can give on the subject.

If it helps, I'm a very small fry business which is just starting out. So I need a very low cost startup / no minimum charges per month / low volume transactions type of payment capability, so any suggestions/comments are very appreciated. Payquake seems like it COULD fit this bill, but I need more info from people already using it.

happy holidays,
gaz

For those trying to use the broken URL posted above... try this one instead. One of the most informative on PayQuake I have found to date.

PayQuake is not a 3rd party proccessor .. they provide a full merchant account.

I have been using them awhile but didn't get approved at the PayQuake rates due to an error on my credit report. I'm still sort of peeved at the fact they didn't ever notify me they would sign me up with one of their specialty merchant accounts. The rates aren't that bad though, and way much better than a 3rd party processor. Who is the underwriter for your account?

I believe my account is underwritten by HSBC Bank USA because I qualified for PayQuake/USMS's regular merchant account. I have nothing if not good credit.
